Really hate Steam! And all those game applications on PC

For what it's worth, the DRM on Steam is an absolute charm compared to some of the others out there like UPlay for example. I'd prefer Steam over any of the others any day. Though sure, I'd prefer to not need it at all. But then updates would be a lot more cumbersome than they are with Steam.

Regarding the buying a PS4 version of Saints and being able to play online with those playing it on Steam / PC. Well, I don't own that game, and it is very game specific, but I highly doubt it. I think the only one I've known that happen was Portal but that was because Sony and Steam did some deal and you could sign in to Steam on the PS4. Maybe they've done that again? Otherwise the usual case is that PSN players play online with other PSN players, XBL players Vs other XBL players and Steam Vs Steam. It's not normal for them to mix. Not completely out of the question though.

at least you don't have to pay a subscription to play over steam :P

Tell a lie, I did get codes which I redeemed (it was a different game that came as a gift) interesting to note your comments about selling gifts.

So just to clarify it was a game that was redeemed via a code but I still had to buy another game through steam before I could make any friends for Mrs Fitz.

My Account too has been setup since the Half Life 2 days :)

But! On steam you can't add any friends until you actually purchase a game, steam gifts don't count. So we can't play the game together that we've legitimately bought two copies of unless she buys some other game direct for steam, wtf is up with that?

The not being able to add other players as Friends in a recent change, due to our old friends the scammers.
People were getting spammed with offers to buy certain tradable items in steam, but using the traditional fake payment site or some other :censored:
Scammer gets the item, gives it to another of his fakes accounts, and disappears.

I don't understand all this tradable items stuff, I have unlocked a lot of stuff but don't know what I'm supposed to do with it, if anything lol.

Otherwise I've come to terms with this digital age and have decided to embrace it lol

Just bought a couple more games on Gog for Mrs Fitz including the remastered Grim Fandango :D

+1 for GOG! :)

The unlocks are akin to trading cards - but they have such a tiny value, that I can't be arsed with it if I'm honest - Maybe I'm getting old. lol!

just out of curiosity...did GTA NEED a tongue-in-cheek version? (aka Saints Row)?

after all, you can machine gun, grenade, bazooka and flamethrow an entire neighborhood to death...then just drive around until the cops forget about you...usually about 5 mins at most...

Yeah some of the GTA missions can be pretty tricky for people that just want to run n gun. For example Mrs Fitz loves the GTA games but only as a spectator, but she really enjoyed actually playing the Saints Row Games :)
