ricky gervais, now there is a person i dont understand humor wise...never laughed at single thing or gag he was in.

Totally agree regarding any TV shows he has created. The Office was the most boring and mind numbing rubbish I've ever had to endue an episode of. Nearly as bad as actual reality TV such as Big Brother. He has however been much better in more serious film roles. Ghost town was good.

As for Red Dward, I really don't get all the negativity from everyone. It's great to see a series like this returning again. If you don't agree, then don't watch it, but surely you need to give it a chance first?

I completely agree on both counts. Gervais shouldn't even be famous for his humour IMO. He's just a smug git with a superiority complex, lol.

As for Dwarf, series 10 only finished a few years ago. I didn't think it was all that bad. Sure, Rimmer is older and fatter. Cat has visibly aged a little. Lister didn't look too different, and Kryten is almost exactly the same since he wears a rubber mask and a suit! Hehe, even Holly came back! (original male Holly). After watching a few minutes, it was easy to overlook the differences.

They're back in full swing now too. 2 seasons announced. Not just a one off return for the hell of it, which they were in the habit of doing every few years or so from series 7. I hear Craig Charles has left Corrie altogether for it. That means they'll be taking it more seriously too.

I'm looking forwards to seeing how it turns out.

no,nor me.thats why i said ill watch it and see.i cant really judge something/pass comment on a program i havent seen yet.

but,i am looking forward to it myself.

i am again looking forward to red dwarf. With the vague hope that it will be more back to its roots rather than a sucsession of 1 liner's that really are not that funny, trying to hard to be funny..

as for ricky gervais I have laughed at him in the karl pilkington shows. I specifically like how he tries to say karl is stupid belitteling the things karl says even though pilkington was correct. It just makes him look like an idiot so i like the karl pilkington stuff which i suppose i have the thank ricky for. But apart from that i dont like ricky at all either.

Red Dwarf started to fall off when they gave Cat and intellect instead of making him a horny James Brown fashionista in space. When they got money and Kochanski came back the mustard was off the hot dog. The shark was jumped with that crap on Dave that almost felt like a metamockumentary.

"I'm gonna get a sheep and a cow, and breed horses" LOL!

And in this case they are flogging a dead one. Like all things in life, they are only good first time around. They should come up with new ideas instead of ruining our memories of a great series from back then.

Bryce.

Fully agree. I think that's why Ricky ends his series on a high - Extra = 2 seasons (and the specials), The Office = 2 seasons (and the specials), Derek, Life's Too Short (now that was especially hilarious).

He ends on a high instead of milking a cash cow until even the original fans cannot stand the sight of it anymore.... Red Dwarf should have ended 6 seasons ago - the show would be considered a cult classic comedy. Now it's just considered (by the majority in my experience) as a tired old shlock comedy for kids. It's a shame really.

Has to be said though, Ricky is a one trick pony - his comedies all rely on character humour and subtleties which you either get, or don't get. Looking back to when I was much younger I never would have given ANY of his comedies the time of day, but as you get older your tastes tend to evolve and mature..... or at least you hope they do. :) Now simple slapstick/pun related humour just makes me groan - I'm looking at you Red Dwarf.

Red Dwarf had true genius... but that was a LONG LONG time ago in a galaxy FAR FAR away....

...but here in this universe.... I'm off to watch some classic Yes Prime Minister. :)

should of been finished 6 series's ago???

damn,i dont think you should be watching these at all then lol...

as for ricky,he has no sense of humor and his comedy is like watching paint dry on a rusty boat sinking at sea.maybe thats why you think red dwarf should of ended early, lol
its not about getting anything you either like him or not, ricky is crap and boring, end of.
christ, i dont know many 60 year olds that like him so it cant be appreciation as you get older..but i know Americans somehow love the crap he puts out.

(crowd auto clapper/laughing machine , on....)presenter hands ricky the trophy, ricky:thank you,ill leave now.crowd: lets get out of here before he comes back for a standing ovation.
