That earlier 68060s are relabeled as the, much-sought-after, last mask, 71E4J, is pretty much common knowledge now. Unfortunately, when the demand for a certain product increases, the counterfeiters see easy money.

So what about the 68882 FPUs? I've been looking for a 68882 PGA FPU and something that strikes me is that ALOT of the 68882RC50 PFUs on Ebay has exact the same markings; 1J23S, QQAF9813, MALAYSIA. Were the 68882s produced only certain weeks or is this an obvious scam (lower frequency FPUs relabed as 50 Mhz)?

Looking at this thread at another forum (hope it's ok to link) show pretty good signs/evidence of a QQAF9813 FPU been relabeled: https://www.ppa.pl/forum/amiga/36729/zakupy-u-majfrendow-czyli-68882-po-szlifie

Just curious about other Amibayers experiences. Have you been scammed buying a 68882?

Just buy an XC68882 50 Mhz FPU, not an MC.
I doubt anyone would counterfeit one and then mark it as a "lowly" XC ;-)
