Is the file you are looking for called "Make_2MB_ROM.rx" in the ARexx folder?

Emufan over on EAB zoned Remus 1.51 and that file in included.

no, it's the file included into remus tools folder

I've only used the 1meg ROM file to make my own 3.9 kickstarts for my 1200 and WinUAE, Remus_rc32 had the tools folder when installed but the Remus 1.51 version I have doesn't contain a Tools folder. There are 2 files in the 1.51 version which mention 2MB.... one is in "others/Blizkick" and the other is in the ARexx folder.

I have never installed the 1.51 version mainly because I made my ROMS before this version came to light, my version came from :- http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=37733&page=2 is this the same version that you have?

remus file

thanks...

but your link doesnt works...

strange cos when i use 2mo rexx tool, to create a 2megrom for a1200....

it launch the 1mb programm, tells you if you want for 1200, 600 or cd32...
make the 2 file.bin but finally nothing appears in the final destination folder

all works with the 1mo rexx tool when i want to create 1megrom for a1200

Hi spokegrat,
I just tried the link and it does work i.e. it takes you to the EAB page where you select the link Remus rc36.lha or Remus 1.51.lha.

I wonder if you have to rename 2MB_ROM in others/Blizkick to make2megrom or point to that directory to make use of the file. It's been a while since I last used Remus but as you mention there is no file or Tools directory in this version.

i tried to rename make1megrom into make2mergrom...still the same not working

From this site the make 2megrom is also mentioned https://translate.googleusercontent...arta/3&usg=ALkJrhg7kY1ywTCP7CCLivB_S9k_laFt-A

noticeably is this reply which may make a bit more sense :-

In reply to # 64
Even more important is how to make 2 MB ROMs.

1) We make a normal 512k ROM at first by throwing exec.library and then 2mb_rom module and fill in the kickstart content. The project saves and compiles binaries.
2) We are doing an extended 512k ROM by throwing the RomHeader_E0 module up and filling it up. The project saves and compiles binaries.
3) We are doing an extended 1MB ROM by throwing the RomHeader_A8 module up and filling it up. The project saves and compiles binaries.

Finally click the last button and execute the Arexx script - Make_2MB_ROM.rx and answer the question with 3 files and the place where the results are saved. He should divide us into 2 LO and HI cubes.

Cubes are programmed and used in live hardware. Each of them will have at least 1 MB or more of space.

I haven't read the whole thread, this is on page 3 so 2 and 1 are unread by me and the link translates to english and its the most I have seen about the files contained in Remus 1.51. I hope you can get somewhere from the information above, there really ought to be better information about such a file and its usage.

remus file

Aha, ignore the text below, your picture has just decided to appear and I can now see what you have been saying. That does look pretty bad and that the folder and file required do not exist. I will keep an eye out for more information but it doesn't look good at the moment.

1) We make a normal 512k ROM at first by throwing exec.library and then 2mb_rom module from Others/BlizKick and fill in the kickstart content with your other bits ie Alert.hook, expansion.library etc. The project saves and compiles binaries.

2) We are doing an extended 512k ROM by throwing the RomHeader_E0 module up and filling it up. The project saves and compiles binaries.

3) We are doing an extended 1MB ROM by throwing the RomHeader_A8 module up and filling it up with stuff like compactflash.device and fat95 and whatever extras you intend to add. The project saves and compiles binaries.

Finally click the last button and execute the Arexx script - Make_2MB_ROM.rx and answer the question with 3 files and the place where the results are saved. They should divide them into 2 LO and HI files
Files are programmed and used in live hardware. Each of them will have at least 1 MB or more of space.

So basically you have to create 3 files then use the Arexx script - Make_2mb_ROM.rx to combine and and split the files into 2 files and they are what is needed. to go into an Amiga 1200 etc.

I haven't tried this as I don't really have the time due to other stuff at the moment, I know it took me ages to do Mfilos's 1meg 3.9 ROM mainly because most of the files once installed (.LHA files) were in the wrong places and Remus couldn't find them which when I sorted it out worked great

I do hope you manage to make your 2meg Roms and that the solution is in the advice above and not a missing file but there are other folk looking for make 2meg so its a good possibility that it is really missing :(

That's great news spokegrat, emufan over on EAB had the same problem as you with the build. I will point him to your post and give him some joy at getting the files up and running.

Cheers Mate, I am very happy you got this sorted and shared the solution

Hi spokegrat, any chance of passing on the solution. I emailed the above asking for help but no response yet as its only been a short time, any help would be appreciated as there are a lot of people getting interested in the 2mb project and the lack of information is as you know a real problem.

Cheers,
Allen.

remus file

strange, i answered you....
just use an hexadicimal editor program to join the 4 files and create bin files

Hi spokegrat,

amiga241 just pointed it out and the solution as you mentioned becomes clearer, I'm just not the sharpest tool in the box nowadays so things take a while to sink in these days

All the very best,
Allen
