Anyone know a good source for replacement sockets for Amiga motherboards?

I need a socket for a Denise chip for an Amiga 3000. I am not sure what the correct pitch is for the pins.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

its just a standard 48 pin DIL socket isent it?

if you cant find any you could always use strip pins, also as far as i know all dil sockets have the same pin pitch.

Roy_Bates suggestion is the best advice,

Get your self a stock of turned pin socket strips and you are then prepared for all chip sizes, even the 68000

the turned pin type give superior low resistance contact too.

TC ;)

Thanks for the input guys.

I was really hoping to replace with the same socket type to keep the board looking original. I am trying to help a friend with a corroded Denis socket so I was hoping for an easy desolder/solder of the same socket.

I found a supplier of the sockets, but, they have many different pitches and I wasnt sure which one was correct.

Thats basically it.. The A3000 doesnt use the style with the round holes, but, I wont be that picky. lol..

I found one on Element14 but I just wanted to confirm the pitch.

like this one?

if TC could be so kind as to confirm pitch and distance between rows, as i dont have my vernier gauge on me at the moment.

I appreciate it, but, I dont think he will want to wait that long for his Amiga to be fixed.

All Amiga DIL chips have the very same standard 1/10" pitch (that's 0.254mm in new money).

Wonderful. Thank you. The 2.54mm pitch is the one that I found but wanted to confirm it was the right one.
