I've always like the A2000, an A500 with endless expandability....

At some point I aquired a A2000 system with a 6.x board. The board was pretty broken and had been repaired more than once. For a long time I had entertained the idea of remaking the PCB. The broken board seemed like the perfect candidate...

The schematics for the board was done in eagle over the course of 7-8 months. Desoldering the board was also a challenge until I got a new heat gun :p.

Laying out the board was done by measuring the now completely desoldered board.

Two weeks ago the looks from eagle was something like this:

This was sent to a board house and today this arrived in the mail:

Looking forward to see if this will actually work.

That's quite cool, any plans to have more boards made for others or release the files for others to have boards made themselves?

Impressive job. Congratulations. And double kudos if the board actually works. That's a new homebrew revolution start for retrocomputing.

If it works, I will be happy to provide boards. I would like to use any (possible) profit generated from this to fund similar projects.

I'm already entertaining the idea of a rev. 7 board, with 2MB Chip RAM (similar to rev 8 A500). Also incorporating all erratas from rev 6.x.

Excellent idea, keep up the good work. I have a broken A2000 hopefully I will bring it back to life.

Not exactly... yours is red! :D
Anyway, the two ones are great projects!

Funny,
I have done exactly the same :-)

gseb pointed me towards your project over at a1k :-)

I wasn't aware of until today... maybe we should compare notes ;-)

My german is a bit limited, but it seems you are discussing somthing about a A2630 ? This was kinda next on my list ... maybe we should join forces?

Yes plaese. I started the A2630 rework last Year. An original Board is disassembled, measured and the redrawring ist in process :)

Send me am PM

Now you have the finished PCB design.
It would be easy to change the form factor to ATX and use a PC case

simply awesome , i too have a desire to remanufacture some Amiga boards...
