Dear fellow Amibayers! :)

There's something about a vintage video game that does good at the… soul. The 16 color graphics, the 8 bit sound etc, conjures memories of simpler times, when joysticks seemed heavier and larger because our hands were still small, and a single dollar/euro/pound etc seemed like a heck of a lot more money than it does right now.

Although today’s video games have come close to cinematic masterpieces, there's often nothing better than the fun and simplicity of retro classics.
I do believe that the majority of the fellow Amibay members have come across many-many of these vintage video-games and hardware, either via our real vintage hardware collection or by jumped into the world of emulation.

RETROSHOWCASE.COM (and .GR) will take you through the very best vintage video-games which we enjoyed most on any computer/console platform back to the days. Each game is described in a few lines, targeting on their story, graphics, sound and gameplay along with some other special technical features found. :D

NEW LOOK!

More than 40 vintage-platforms qre available here!

There are direct comparisons of games on similar platforms like Amiga vs Atari ST vs Archimedes, C64 vs Amstrad CPC vs ZX Spectrum, SNES vs Megadrive/Genesis and lots more! Each game review is wrapped in a cute package including photos, sounds and videos (the last, mostly from utube etc).

NEW LOOK!

There also some trivia game on video-games! Whether you're a gaming geek or not, put down your controller/joystick etc and get your brain ready for some intense vintage video-game trivia! Note that not all platforms are yet supported.

In the future, a user registration/login will be also added in order for you to leave a comment on each small review. Note, this is not a forum though! This is not my goal! The idea of Retroshowcase.com (and.gr) is pure and simple: print my own memories and thoughts on old school video games and home-computer/consoles hardware.

I do know that that there hundreds of other similar sites, better or worst etc I don’t really care, and honestly I don’t see this like a competition. I do like and respect other people's work on similar webs and all I’m doing is to share my thoughts for my beloved vintage video-games along with the history of their related home-micros and game-consoles.

I would be happy to have your commnets, positive or negative here. It would be pretty much helpful to know the pros and cons and make any changes needed. :p Despite the content being added (reviews, photos etc), I must say that I have programmed myself the whole site (web programming is my full-time job in real life). There is no Joomla, Wordpress and out-of-the-box platform here! its pure php, mysql and scripting. So if any bug found, please let me know. cheers!

My best,
Nick

That is Excellent and It show the different in colours between Amiga/ST/PC Nice one :)

Thanks mate!
I have used RGB palette filter editing in order to extract the exact colors from a scene.
Notice that, some game graphics that looked identical to the eye between i.e. Amiga and ST, they've actually been ... different.

Added manuals (pdf) for major old school hardware systems.
Of course, I do not own most of that work (scanned by others and wherever indicated inside a pdf).
The idea is to have the most common home-computer and video-game console user manuals/guides in one, single place :D, available for anyone to download :p.
Anyone like us ! The old school lovers ;)
