Well,

This is my small contribution, of course compared to others it's very small

After buying the Amiga 1200 on ebay, I saw that the keys were yellow and sticking your fingers! So I read online some way to return the original color.

You need:

1) a small screwdriver to pry the keys

2) patience

3) two large glass pots to put the keys

4) a toothbrush to clean the keys

5) more patience and time

6) Sun, water, soap and hydrogen peroxide

6) time

the process is very simple:

First ,remove keys pulling up the screwdriver (be careful with springs¿?)
Second, rub well each key with a toothbrush and
Soak in soapy water in a glass container for one full day

After cleaning all the keys, put in two large glass containers with hydrogen peroxide (In my case I needed about two liters) in a place of the Sun, for two days

and finally

Carefully put the springs and keys. would recommend to start by Enter, spacebar, tab...

And if you want to paint with a white spray the top of the Amiga

I hope you understand my English!! (in my defense I will say that I studied French)

[EDIT: ADD NEW PHOTOS]

this is my "old" Amiga 1200...

STEP 1: You need to be 18 years old to see my Amiga naked (typical Joke Spanish..)

Sadly I had to edit your images as they were not linked in the format required by our forum software. Z.

@Harkonnen75

Hello there, sadly I had to remove your picture links as they were incorrect with the way this forum shows images.

I would humbly suggest using a free hosting service - I use http://www.postimage.org - its free and great for uploading lots of images and albums.

Alternatively you can create an album on AmiBay by going to your profile and adding album.

I look forward to seeing more pictures

Z

Always nice to see a fine white Amiga :)

Sadly we don't have any sun in Denmark.

Hello,

i can only confirm it: paint the yellowed plastic with H2O2 and dry it under the sun (that need to be shiny). The sun of Spain, Italy and Greece is perfect!
Liters and liters of H2O2 make no sense!

Regards
Stefano

There is no stickers in original keys. They are printed with ink.

I could swear those are stickers on mine machines. Mine are from Escom era though maybe that makes difference?

I've seen some Danish keyboards with stickers but that was only for the buttons ÆØÅ
