Hi guys,

We are doing a large retro event in Wolverhampton Race Course in May this year (18th and 19th) and was wondering if Amibay would like to attend?

Site : www.revivalretroevents.com

Cheers,

Chris

Some more info:
We have booked the Wolverhampton Race Course to host a new retro event on May 18th and 19th this year. The venue is large and the space rented is over 1400m2 - we are looking to get 1,000+ visitors each day.

The website is here : http://www.revivalretroevents.com
Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/FusionRevival
Event Page : http://www.facebook.com/events/382084498550257/

To give you an idea of scale, this is the layout of the venue:

I have done 3 events before the first being 'The Retro Ball' in Kenilworth back in 2005 - we had 20 cabs there and 15 Pinball machines as well as a selection of Pachinkos (did any of you guys come to that?).

We will also be supporting the Warwickshire Air Amublance Charity and The Retro Computer Museum.

The event was covered in Retro Gamer magazine in February. I will be ramping up the PR for the event from now.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

I can make it :)

I would like a stall to sell my spare Amiga stuff if that's allowed and will have a few Amiga's for the show

It would be good if we could organise some sort of swap shop or trading post so we can trade all our unwanted retro items.

It's a good 3 hour drive for me, think i'll give this a miss for now but could change my mind closer to the date.

train for me and got a mate in wolverhampton

We do need a table for amibay even to sell and make some to cover amibay fees

Hopefully I will be there helping retro collect again, th missus has given me the green light to go :-)

It does look like fun.
Zetr0 and I are starting to organise a get together across a couple of forums (Stardot, Lemon64, WoS and hopefully one of the Atari forums) in the summer. That will be more of a "hack-fest" concentrating on the hardware, be a private event not open to the general public, and a bit of a social gathering so that people can feel free to bring along their pride and joys for a bit of fun and hackery with maybe a few "how to workshops" and general messing about.

I don't mind doing both though, I love small events and this one looks excellent with some great talks etc.

I can give you a ring if you don't mind Chris, I've got your number on Retro-Gamer in my inbox.

2013 Retro Revival

Hi all

Is anyone going to http://www.revivalretroevents.com/ this year???
I just got an invite from one of my old friends in the games industry (never seen this event before). Sounds like there will be a few names going. The date is set for 18th - 19th May.

Yes please m8 - give us a ring :-)

I should be going although TBC, I might actually pluck up the courage to speak to some people rather than just play on the old gear for once :D

I will be running our RetroGaming RoundUp booth and I've been experimenting with a few bits and pieces, and I'll be broaddcasting over FM for the weekend.

You can tune in to Retro Arcade Radio on your FM dial.
