Im so gutted. Just been told. I really liked John. I used to play alot of ARK online with him. He always took the time to talk to you, he would even bring me and matt food at shows.
He will be missed.

Such dreadful news , I only found last night and while looking through my messages I found a message John sent a few days ago asking if I was okay. I’m so annoyed that I missed the message. Take care John you were a lovely guy and I will miss our chats and arguments about - well anything really :)

so sad for his lovely family, it only seems like yesterday Aimee came to one of the shows.

you will be missed buddy.

mike.

I am really saddened by this news which has come out of the blue. John was a great guy, a gentleman and we considered him a friend.

He would always spent hours chatting with us at Amiga events and shows, he was friendly and knowledgeable about the Amiga. He always thought of others, an example being when we were too busy serving customers on our stands in shows, he would bring us food and drink to keep us going through the day.

Amibay events will not be the same without him. We will miss him.

Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

What terrible news. I couldn't say I knew him well but I did meet him at the Amibay stand and had a chat at Play Manchester back in 2012. RIP.

Sorry to hear this sad news, helped me out with some issues a few times. Condolences to his family.

He really was the most selfless guy. A few years ago I started gaming on monday evenings with John and ccouple of amibay members that I've become very close friends with.

I had a laptop that couldn't keep up so I bought a pc from John when he upgraded. After a week or so it stopped booting and was having problems. I didn't complain, I bought it as I saw it. He tried to help me get it going chatting over the web and eventually thought it was down to the motherboard.

We had become good friends and the following evening around 8pm there was a knock at my door. I opened the door to find John standing there, he'd rode his bike from Birmingham to Nottingham and had bought a spare motherboard with him.

He sat in my living room, helped me rebuild the pc and wouldn't leave till it was working again.

He was one of the nicest guys I ever had the pleasure of calling my friend and I will miss him in our daily group facebook chat.

Goodnight my friend and rest well... :(

So so sad, we had the odd chat about classic `Superman` comics as he had the same childhood love for them as i did. condolences to his family.RIP

I never met you in person, something always seemed to get in the way and i would have to wait until next time. But i know you were a kind person, and a genuine joy to spend time with.
in the few years we knew each other we had a lot of laughs, I will never forget the good times, and the laughs we had although the memory's will always be of good times they will forever have sadness attached.
Im going to miss you mate.
you were taken from us too soon.

Not an hour has gone by this week when I haven't thought about John and what his family will be going through. He was a great friend and I miss him deeply. I'll always remember him lumping his massive bags full of kit onto trains to attend our gatherings. At one of the last events my daughter and I managed to pick him up at his house on our trip down from Scotland and drop him off again to save him the hassle. Lovely few hours all chatting together in the car. He loved his Sci Fi and we would talk about the shows we were watching as well as gaming and computers and stuff. RIP my friend.

I know what you mean, I only met him a few times at events but everytime I saw him it was like meeting up with an old friend. He was always just good to be around.

I got the train back from Blackpool with him a couple of time & couldnt believe how much he manage to pack into his bags, just for the pleasure of sharing his computers & knowledge with complete strangers.

His poor wife & kids deserved to have him for so much longer.

We started collecting donations for John's family last Monday.

My Paypal announcements went mad on the Monday and Tuesday.

I then sat down Tuesday evening to work out how much had been donated in his memory.

Tears started to well as the amount of money went up and up.

To all those that donated - you are a credit to the community and to John and his family.

This is closing tonight and an announcement will be made of how much has been raised.

So please if you would like to donate and haven't please can you do so before this evening.

Thank you

Sorry to read this didn’t meet John but always come across as a nice helpful guy. RIP John
