After many many minutes of Googleing (Googling?), I couldn't figure out the answer.

Has anyone ever used a PCMCIA SCSI adapter OTHER than squirrel or the iomega one?

Would something like Adaptec APA-460 or APA-1460 work? Basically I'm working on providing external SCSI for my 1200.

Any info would be really helpful :)

@mikerm

Hello there, as may know the Amgia PCMCIA port is only 16bits wide and as such 32bit (card-bus) cards will not work with the Amiga (sadly).

Now even though the Adaptec APA-460 is a 16bit PCMCIA card there are not any drivers available for it in regards to the Amiga. It is unlikely such a bespoke card would work with a generic Amiga driver I am sorry to say.

You could contact Adaptec and query them, you never know ;)

Oh alright, thanks for the info :)

I guess I will just wait impatiently for another squirrel to show up.

I was looking at those adaptors only yesterday. I wonder if the aic78xx.device would 'see' the adaptor? It's was written for adaptec cards, albeit in the mediator.
