I've been googling this for over an hour and cannot come up with an answer to it.

Do US/Japanese Mega CD games work on a PAL Multi Mega? If not and it's just down to the bios can I use the Mega Everdrive to load a bios then boot a game up or will I still need a 60hz switch mod? How about Mega Drive carts on this system too?

Some insight would be useful...

Mega / Sega CD games are region locked, but you can indeed use an Everdrive to load a CD Bios. Some games (Snatcher, Road Rash) seem to have issues if you go the Everdrive route. Not sure if this is still the case with newer revisions of the firmware or Everdrive hardware. My Mega CD has a region free bios fitted. which works fine too. However, I bought the system with the mod already installed, so I don't know how or by whom it was done.

Thanks for the responses so far, but do Mega CD hacks apply to the Multi Mega? it is after all a completely different main board with components moved around etc, will they still work?

AFAIK the only way to make a region-free multimega is to change the onboard bios... and that task is no walk in the part either since the machine is so packed... have a looksie here : http://wolfsoft.de/wordpress/?p=478

edit:
forgot to mention that you can make images of your games, patch them to EU region and burn them back to quality discs, they will boot fine as there is no copy protection involved
