I've just come around to test my Sum A1200 keyboard adapter and try to use it with my Simulant Amiga Classic USB keyboard.

It's not working.

Both work idendependently of eachother
  • Sum A1200 keyboard adapter works with any other USB keyboard i give it
  • Simulant Amiga Classic USB keyboard works with the Freeway USB card
  • The keyboard works in my PC/laptop
They just don't want to work together. This is a real bummer as the Simulant keyboard is perfect looking to my Checkmate case.

I know of another Simulant keyboard owner who can’t use it with the Amikey1200 (very similar to Sum) adapter. I believe you can get the Simulant ps/2 “upgrade” kit and then use it with something like a Lyra but you would be best off talking to the Simulant people to see if there is a fix coming.

I don't think they ever made a PS2 kit for pc hardware, the one they offer is purely for Amiga

Both the SUM and Amikey 1200 are very limited to the keyboards they support - the sellers say it is due to too much power draw from the keyboards (oddly they lie), as the electronics only work with old inexpensive, simple ones by Logitech and IBM. Newer, nice looking, or Amiga appearing will work with them.
