CPU received this morning.

The box was beaten but you packed the item VERY VERY well.

I saw that you sent me a plastic bracket ?

Is this a security clip or something ?

Postmen must have played football with it , but i'm glad it arrived in one piece :).

Some slot-1 motherboard brackets don't hold the CPU in place with that type of cooler, but some universal motherboard brackets are fine. You place the extra bracket on top of the CPU and the 2 clips on each side should slot/click into the motherboard CPU bracket. You might not need it, but i thought it would be best to send it just in case .

Photos.

SUCCESS

It didn't post in the beginning so i swaped again with 700MHZ and switched the bios cpu setting to jumper emulation.

It goes up to 8x100 but when it posts shows 850.

Few photos.

I suppose i can change your heatsink with mine ? Has double the size and the weight of the one you sent me. 27-31 CPU temp idle at BIOS.

Also some SPEEDSYS views and 3dbench(2) views with and without FASTVID enabled.

Just for the record the PIII@733 (133 BUS) hits 910 points on 3dbench. While the 900 (370 socket 9x100) Hits 901 poitns.

Nice setup, and i'm sure that huge passive heatsink should be just fine with some good thermal paste .

It seems your +12V rail is out of spec as it's showing 14.05v :o. It might just be a bad sensor reading though (hopefully).

Yeah. I tried 2-3 PSU's and they show the same.

So assuming it's a bug or something or wrong reading.

A have 3 of these boards so if one goes out i'll swap it immediately.

Probably a cheap PSU... And no -5V rail, so some ISA cards won't work properly.

Only one ISA card on this PIII setup at the moment. This is for fast DOS gaming and Windows ME. Below the Voodoo 2 cards is another Sound Card for Windows. SB Live 1024.

AWE 32 Value. Model 3620 i think. It's OK for DOS games.

I have my other AWE 32 cards (3980 + 3990 with SB50XG midi daughterboards for my 486/Pentium setups)

The only thing i'm wondering is that 2.2 BIOS, since QDI only listed 2.1...

Here on this very usefull BIOS database is all the files for old mainboards somebody can have.

As for the QDI. Seems stable ok and official. If you want it it's here.

The mainboard model is Brillianx-1S regardless if it has silkscreened
QDI - LEGEND below the north bridge.

@Mods

Feedback left and received from both sides.

Yeah, i also found it.

P6I440BX/B1S BrillianX IS BETA BIOS version 2.2e for SpeedEasy and LogoEasy. AWDFLASH.EXE Version 7.95 included!
(support PCB v1.0 only)

BIOS Modified:
1. Support 76.8GB HDD. (However that is strictly capacity and it does not say anything about compatibilty with ATA66 or ATA 100 type harddrives. Most ATA66 or ATA100 drives should have no problem to also work on ATA33 (UDMA/33) IDE based mainboard at ATA33. However some of them do require the use of a so called 80-lead (ATA66/100) IDE cable. It looks like a normal IDE cable but it has the words "SYSTEM", "MASTER" and "SLAVE" printed on it near the connectors.)
2. Support Coppermine II core processor. (FC-PGA only with a very good converter card that has its own voltage regulator for adjustment of CPU core voltage! Should work but it is outside the specifications so we cannot guarantee it!)

The sensor is probably out of calibration... Worst case scenario is a defective voltage regulator on the motherboard, but if it's running fine then i'd guess there's nothing to worry about :). I remember flashing my old Abit IX38 QuadGT motherboard with a beta bios and all the fan readings would show 9999RPM .
