Hi all, I have for sale this spare snes console only.

I got this from a local shop in a bundle I bought.

It was sold as untested as she didn't have a power supply for it but she did point out that there was a switch installed underneath.

The switch is a 50/60hz switch and the cic lockout chip has been wired to ground to disable it. This allows the booting of American/Japanese carts (not all carts will work with the lockout disabled).

I have filed the slot so American carts fit and resoldered the switch as the wiring was a bit messy.

As you can see in the pics it powers up and works fine.

It would make a decent console combined with an everdrive/sd2snes (none included).

As said already though it will come as console only, no cables/controllers/games are included.

I am asking £20 plus p&p

Interessted depending shiping cost to Norway and some questions. This works with all pal games? When you say "not all carts will work with the lockout disabled" does this also incl pal games or just games from us and jap?

Hi, i am taking the information from mmmonkey's site regarding carts not booting with the chip disabled. If you check the following page it will show that some pal games will have graphical glitches when using 60hz, some games will need to be started at 50hz and then switched once booted (to get around region checks) and some pal games will refuse to boot at all with the lockout disabled (Kirby's Fun Pack was mentioned).

The best solution would be to remove the switches and fit a supercic switchless chip (a full region free lockout chip replacement) but i'm all out of pic chips at the moment so cannot do that.

I could find a switch and mount so you can enable or disable the lockout as and when needed thereby making the pal games function as they should if you'd be interested?

If you could mount the switch, that would be great! If the shipping is not to bad I will buy it. Hmm, now I just have to find power supply and controls. Any tips? :)

2nd switch fitted.

Switch closest to the front of the console controls 50/60hz and the back switch controls cic lockout enable/disable.

I will check out shipping costs later, now it's champions league final time :)
