So just how far can you push an A600?

3B gives 21% more than Zero2, and offers 512 MB more of RAM.
How much more than that should it give in your opinion?
 
I think i have seen sysinfo results of more than 1000000 dhrystones but i must be mistaken.
Actually, i found the about 150000 dhrystones from my v1200 V2 very nice, except they are still not enough at all to run Mame with system16 games and the like. Did you try Mame with Strider or Rastan on those PiStorm?
 
No emulators tried so far, will have it on my to-do list and update this thread once done.
Maybe the 1000000 dhrystones was using UAE?
 
ACA 630 from iComp is the best accelerator you can buy for it. With indivision ECS rev1 you can even display workbench in 256 colours (no impact on games, though).
Now this board is almost unobtainable, so you may consider the new A630 from Archi-Tech. The rev2 is great but the rev3 will include FPU... worth the wait IMO.

Yeah, then the 90 degree adapter, which would move the socket toward the left and close to keyboard and then pray for sufficient clearance. It looks JUST doable...maybe. Someone should try it. Personally...I think 68030 50Mhz is just dandy in a 500, 600, 1200...you can't even have a 50Mhz 68030 in a 4000! :-)
 
yes you can, there is the Blizzard 4030 which takes a 68030 @ 50 MHz without any onboard ram.

About the socket adapter, I doubt everything would fit in the A600. Everything is stuffed in mine including cables from the subway. It is too small.

It looks like 1 200 000 dhrystones are only possible when using PiMIGA2.

PiMIGA3 cannot reach 900 000.

AmiKit 12.1.2 crossed the 900 000 mark.

Same hardware (RPi 400) and same SysInfo (4.4) used for the benchmarks.

I'm learning so much just by reading your posts. I know I haven't really commented much, but I'm also still waiting to be able to fix my A600.

Keyboard membrane is dead. Waiting on one from a user here to be delivered, but la post is being pants on head.

Well the keyboard membrane has finally shown up in my state's USPS network, so I'm hoping it's here within the next day or two. I think the next thing I want to do is some how cram an 030 in it, but for now I just want to get it working at all.
