Tried buying an 030 Terrible Fire off a certain popular auction site. Royal mail lost the parcel in less than a day! Talk about skill!

Then to top it off they updated the tracking to say it had been delivered...what the actual feck!

Tried contacting the seller who seems to be a Terrible Fire seller. Never replied to a single message and then when I report the item as not delivered. They get the case closed so I can't get a refund / replacement. Totally forgetting that as they sent the parcel, they are in a better position to enquire about it than I am.

Feeling utterly deflated, really knocked my trust in this community. Not just that I'm £130 out of pocket, but that they didn't even engage with me to sort things out or try to help

Thought about contacting Steve aka Terrible fire, seems wrong for people to be selling his gear and ripping people off.

Was it actually one of the official TF boards? There are people out there selling copies.
Also, I'm surprised they can block you from opening a dispute as long as you react in due time.

I didn’t want to breach forum rules, so I didn’t know if I could share links to the card I’d bought.

I’m hoping when I go to the post office tomorrow I can get them to give proof that I didn’t take receipt of the item, then eBay will honour a refund. The fact that I still have the red card which means I didn’t collect it, doesn’t seem to count for anything.

Seller hasn’t bothered to communicate with me, for right or wrong reasons. I let them know what I thought to their radio silence and utter lack of support. They have my money, so no feeling of responsibility to make sure I have my card. I’ve not left feedback, but you can be sure it’s doing to be negative.

Once the Seller showed them proof of delivery instant case closed. If you have proof you never got the parcel reopen the case with PP if you used them or directly with your credit/debit card bank.

That’s my plan, I went down to the sorting office on Saturday and the woman said the designated slot where my parcel should have been, was empty and they couldn’t explain it. They turned me away and said to called back.

im going to go down first thing tomorrow, because after I left their sorting office. They updated the shipping to say I had collected the item, total bs. Luckily they have cctv, so if I have to, I’m going to the police to get the video footage. It will show I walked out empty handed and looking royally ****ed off.

i always find the auction site support team helpful. open a chat with them and tell them what has happened and ask their advice.

I did last night at about 8pm, was about as supportive as a chocolate tea pot :(

There are sale threads of the tf330 from superduper on hardware for sale section of this forum. Good luck with your dispute, hope you can get one from here the service from him was great.

So this has turned up? The Amiga Community is out of the dog house?

Sorry edited as I think my post probably wasn't helpful

Good news!

The lost card has turned up, I’m only grateful I was in the house when the postman delivered it as I had no warning it was going to turn up. I’d been trying in futile to get through to RM via their hotline, honestly more chance of getting blood from a stone. You get a real sense of “lost your parcel? Tough sh*&” from RM. eBay had told me the only way I was getting a refund, was if I contacted RM and got a letter of confirmation saying it had gone missing. Get a letter? I couldn’t even get them to answer the phone!

Not got a clue where the heck it’s been and why it wasn’t at the sorting office, one theory is the postie that came Friday held on to it, knowing they would be coming back Monday. Either way, I’m relieved, this has seriously put me off using eBay in the future. I should have gone with my instinct and bought it from a seller here on Amibay, but I was foolishly trying to save myself a few quid. Only myself to blame!

Going to test the card out tomorrow and see if it works, I once received a pewter mug through Royal Mail with a huge dent in it. So my trust in their handling skills doesn’t amount for much. I’ve finally had comms from the seller and from what I can make out cards are tested before shipping. So I’ve every reason to hope tomorrow will be 030 A500 time..*fingers firmly crossed*

Also I just wish to thank everyone who replied and offered their 2 cents, you all effectively made the title of the thread look like a load of old cobblers. Nobody likes to admit they’re wrong, but this occasion is the exception :D
