I have for sale a Socket 3 kit composed from:
1. KM-S4-1 motherboard, chipset SiS 496/497, 3 x ISA, 3 X PCI, 2 Serial Ports, 1 Paralel Port, 2 x IDE, 1 x FDD.
A late Socket 3 era motherboard with a small size with all the features you would need for a DOS or Win 95 PC.
256KB 15ns CACHE installed.
In great shape. It has a few marks here and there but nothing too serious to report.
New CMOS battery. The BIOS has been set up on the memory side and a few other settings.
2. AMD 486 DX4 100MHz. A80486DX4-100NV8T. CPU.
A CPU that needs no introduction. I am pretty sure that many of you had this exact CPU back in the day. I for one had its bigger brother, an AMD 5x86 133MHz.
3. Original CPU cooler. The fan has been cleaned and oiled. It runs great with no suspect noises. If you plan to use the kit on a regular basis I recommend that you apply a thin layer of TIM on the CPU.
4. 32MB SIMM 4 stick of 8MB. 70 ns. Plenty for DOS and Win 95. Made by TEXAS INSTRUMENTS with Ti chips. All of the sticks are the same model with the mention that they differ by the production date by a few months.
5. Bracket for serial port.
If you plan to use other serial cables than the one included please check to see if your cable has the correct pinout for this motherboard. Model A or B, staggered or in line. Information can be found on the internet. This "problem" is common as back in the day not all manufacturers abided by the standard.
The kit was fully tested over the course a many days:
a) Win 95 OSR 2 install
b) Games
c) Quake and DOOM
d) PhilsComputerLab test suite
e) MEMTEST 86+
f) misc

Asking price is 150 (was 170) EUR plus shipping. I mainly ship to EU with DPD and I always pack the parts in double boxes or I use high density styrofoam to build an inner armor to protect the contents of the boxes. The price of these materials will be added to the shipping cost. Usually 5-10EUR depending of the size of the parcel.
I ship on the same day or the next day the payment enters my account. IBAN transfers only for now. I will provide all the details of shipping and packing to the future owner.
