I recently dismembered an old PC for some flatcables and the harddisk, and after throwing away the bad stuff (broken CD-ROM and a damaged case) I'm left with a perfectly good working mainboard with CPU and memory.

I can't however remember what CPU is actually was and how much memory it had.
There are 2 SIMMs on board, one of which has a 64MB label. IIRC, the other is 32MB, making a total of 96MB. The CPU is a Pentium of some sort, but I'm not good at identifying those CPUs so check for yourself (and let me know if you know what it is please :D)

Re: Pentium mainboard with CPU and some memory

I have a 10-year-old Fujitsu with a Pentium MMX running at 233MHz (Socket 7, 66MHz mobo x3.5 multiplier), it also has 4 PCI and 3 ISA slots, with 4x 72pin SIMM and 2x 168pin SDRAM slots, USB supposedly available through the 5pin headers like yours in the lower left. Much the same I think, but yours looks to have an AGP slot too and mine doesn't.

It looks to be an equivalent processor, I think it is in fact one of the possible options for my Fujitsu. It might reach 300MHz if you up the mobo speed a bit and play with the multipliers, say 75MHz x4, or even maybe 83MHz (x3 = 250MHz, x3.5 = 291.7MHz), depending on what the chipset can cope with, or it might just be IBM misrepresenting the capabilities with an irrelevant number (hardly a new practice in the PC world). The board might even squeak its way up to 100MHz, and then you could reduce the multi to x3 so you don't fry the processor.

Found a number (35-8838-00) on the board and googled it, and it seems to be branded "Aristo". Most links that turn up are expired Ebay links without pictures, so that doesn't help me any further....

how much to Portugal? Would you sell without the ram and cpu, just the motherboard (to lower the price)?

My God, you even found the manual...

Anyway, shipping to Portugal is €9,10, so that would probably be the major part of the price anyway. Let's say €15,00 for the motherboard including shipping?

That leaves the RAM and CPU for €4,10 if anybody's interested :-D

Re: Pentium mainboard with CPU and some memory

Got the package today! Very well packed indeed! And Mr McVenco throw in some very interesting goodies in the package (the Diamond Viper 550 was a great surprise )! Will mount it and test tomorrow after checking all the jumpers for my Amd K6-2 350 cpu and 128mb pc100 sdram (also have lots off edo ram from 4mb to 16mb dimms), 6GB ide hd and an SB16 isa sound card (essential for msdos compatibility). Will be an awesome win98se/dos 6.22 machine to run all sort of old pc games and Cubic Player! Probably will use an S3 virge 4mb pci for better compatibility. (if the k6-2 refuses to work still have a pentium 100, another pentium 166 and a cyrix pr166.)
