thanks for infos about scart2component converter. i haven't find a good solution to avoid enlarging/upscaling amiga's image .... but now i know..![]()
finally i trow it and bought a scart2hdmi converter. there was no white dot issue, and also visual quality is superior over gb82xx. if you want ican share screen photos.
The scart-HDMI converter is the second best cheap converter available, the best cheap one is the scart-component converter from the same mob as it doesn't suffer from the soft de-interlacing issue which can be quite distracting in scrolling games.
It does a straight analogue conversion of the rgb signal to component and then your tv does the rest, PAL is seen as 576i and NTSC as 480i.
The only issue with the scart-component converter is some tv's can't handle the slightly different type of sync amiga's produce - my sony and pioneer tv's both work fine but my 22" Samsung monitor with video inputs doesn't like the sync.
Can you guys explain a little to me:
What exactly (in idiot terms please!) is the "soft de-interlacing issue"?
How does it affect scrolling games?
How can I check if my HDTVs allow me to set HDMI to 4:3 for an Amiga?
I really prefer to SCART to HDMI as there is no need to mess with audio extractors etc...
Has anyone tried the SCART to HDMI convertor with a HDMI to VGA cable? I seem to be having no luck finding a monitor that supports the HDMI to DVI cable.
Hi,
At last I received 2 GBS and it's a nightmare.... One of them is not outputing RGB amiga signal only a white line at the top of the screen and the rest is green. The other one wotks but the output have a vertical waving..... I ordered also the RGB to HDMI converter hope this one will work....
Only one sentence to say, the one that Uncle Benny said in Lethal Weapon 4: "MARVELOUS..."

I was soon to buy the 8220, but thanks to DJOS efforts the Scart adaptor sounds like the best compromise between quality/ease of use and price.
2 questions I didnt note answered...
Is there a difference between the quality using DVI or HDMI? (My monitor with HDMI was of poor quality compared to DVI, but that may have been the output from the PC)
Is the Scart cable (input) one from the RGB port to Scart on the convertor?
thanks
Ash

I'll let you know how I go with my A1200.
Hi mate, bad news, the SCART to Hdmi converter isn't that good, looks nice until things start moving then the picture goes very soft, it's quite distracting. Another issue is it won't work with dvi-d only monitors as it needs the hdcp drm.

That's pants, does anyone know of a better SCART to HDMI converter?

Well it turned up in the post today, doesn't seem to want to play, can't get any signal out of it to my monitors or LCD TV.
I played with the settings but nothing happening, it looks like the TV is trying to decide what signal it's getting because it keeps changing modes.
There's a YouVideo of some guy with exactly the same box as me so it's obviously possible, God only knows why it doesn't work for me?
