SOLVED - MUI Key retrival from Sasg

Hi Guys, It's Been a while but hey life gets in the way sometimes LOL.

I have been trying to get my MUI key back but it seems Stefan's email address is not working anymore. I bought it a bloody long long time ago and have lost it so I was hoping to chat with him to retrieve it, has anyone been in touch with him or even tried to get a key from them in recent times?

The subject of MUI and purchasing keys from SASG.com (Stefan Stuntz) is definitely a re-occurring one. Too many people in the past have tried to purchase a personalised key but got nothing for their money or suddenly receiving a generic keyfile months down the line.

My suggestion is to forget the personalised keyfile and to use one of the many floating around the internet for now. Once you locate your own keyfile then use that, making sure you know where it's kept this time ;)

There was a statement in the past regarding this matter. No more personalised MUI-keys will be made anymore. You will receive a generic keyfile instead. But this was for new registrations. For retrieving your old MUI personalised key back it's another matter I guess.
 
He told me when I purchased my license that the registration keygen software/sources were on his old Amiga computer, which died, and he had no way to retrieve said software/source code. Instead he sent me the license key for the AmiKit guy. It was odd, but OK fine. Unless the hard drive was damaged, the files should be retrievable. This was about 3 years ago.
 
And if the source code was avaliable, it should have been easily portable to any other platform, be it Mac/linux/Windows…..
 
Thanks, Guys for the Replies. It's a shame really but I suppose he has moved on to other things now. I will have a look around for the file and see if I can find one.

same thing but 10+ years ago, I got a key with the name of a MUI dev
 
I remember some EAB thread where you get a personalized key with proof of your purchase of the official (generic) key and invoice of SASG…

I think they still do. BippyM one of the main mods was looking after it. I would just try and have a look online for a key 👍🏻

I performed the PayPal payment twice but no reply message (paid in July and again in September 2024), lost my money and got no key.
Can anyone tell me if I can get the key anywhere else on the internet?

After sending todays message to Stefan he replied
Apologized for the delay reply, sent me a MUI.key and refunded my second PayPal payment.

Seams he is looking his email today.😀
Go ahead and purchase MUI registration …
 
Does everyone use MUI 5.0 now? Or are we still stuck on 3.8? The only thing I'll be using it for is IBrowse, hopefully. I never got on with MUI in the 90s.

I use MUI 3.9 found on the Ibrowse downloads. Just remember to use stackattack to set the minimum stack levels.

Did you get a license tied to your name or someone else’s key like the AmiKit guy’s?

Here is Stan’s message that I received today

hi!

please let me apologize for the delay in handling your registration. due to
a hardware failure of my good old a3000, i am
unable to create personalized keyfiles at the moment. when i manage to
repair it, you will get one immediately.

until then, please use the keyfile attached to this email. it's David
Gerber's key (co-author of Voyager and AmIRC), he allowed me to use it
for this purpose. please do not spread it, even if it's not your name.
MUI will be unlocked just as it would with your personalized keyfile,
just copy to s: and reboot.
