Some advice please on selling large amount of items

I'm curious/not sure.
I'm in the process of clearing out a lot of stuff from my flat and I've been making a long list of a few Amiga bits & bobs and pc games and stuff,mac stuff ,consoles,console games.
I haven't moved it to the trade/sell section yet as I'm still compiling it.
I was hoping to shift the whole lot in one go by pickup,though i'm not sure if it's viable or someone would be interesting in such a large amount of stuff in one go.


Sidenote:
The theisozone was just where i ended up when i first started thinking about selling what i have.

I was hoping to avoid sending things by mail and thought i might find someone interested in everything
as one lot.

You might want to read the form rules, best advice is to search here or on the other bay for similar items that have sold.

Ahh,thanks wmsteele.
Though that seems to make it difficult to have an open discussion about prices and what not.
Evey thing seems to disappear behind pm's.

the amiga software in boxes you wont get much for.
the so called faulty items could be repaired,if its just capacitor leakage etc...instead of thinking about cannibalizing them for parts...

ive looked down the list of hardware and software and your better off sorting it into category's of machines and software in genra,there is simply too much to offload in one go.

in my opinion.

you could sell it all here if your willing to ship it via courier...which i believe is the best option.

if you look at the category's in the sales threads,it would be possible to so.


as for prices,we cant talk about or discuss it as its against site rules.

So how does it work ,i make a thread in the selling section and ask a price i think is reasonable and peeps then either reply or not.

yes, essentially thats how it works.


you open a thread in the for sale area with a fixed price( no bidding)with pictures of the items.
as you look down the areas youll sections for most retro systems you could take advantage of and a other section for anything else.

give as much info on the hardware/software as you can and whether or not its working.(youll be asked anyway so it make sense to know beforehand itll speed the sale up a bit)if you dont know its working condition say so,people respect honesty.
plus postage shipping options and how to pay..

if someone is interested they will say they are, and probably ask you questions about the items details and shipping details etc.

they will either be interested or not,and may drop out and withdraw interest later before paying if its not what they are looking for...so be aware of that.

you can also state no splits on items you want to sell as a lot or separately.
hense my advise about selling stuff in category's,if you have lots of stuff to sell this will make it alot easier to manage overall.


there are things you cant sell,but a moderator will be along to point you in the direction of some useful threads to read before hand hopefully.

I'll spend a bit of time sorting things out and thinking about how best to break up the list
into manageable sections.

How does courier work?
Is there a recommended courier to use?
I have no clue about such things as I've never used such services.
Does it require me paying cash to the courier upfront?
Do they courier any size of box/container and would they poss. get damaged.
Are we talking lots of bubble wrap?

I mean boxes full of games (be they pc or console games) are pretty heavy.
Same for a lot of the actual consoles ,computers, e.t.c.

you can pay couriers via paypal or credit card,ups is a good one for example...if its expensive at least you can insure it.

buyer normally pays shipping etc.

after you pay them and book it in,you pack it as well as you can and they pick it up or you drop it off at a pickup point and they deliver it.

go for signed for.

post office also does this service but i found it to be more expensive for heavier items.
