Hello,

I'm looking a source to order some 64 dip sockets for the 68000 CPU in A2000 PCs. I do see some on Mouser but they seem prohibitively expensive. Do you have a lead? The rough specs are

64 dip socket
2.54mm
81.2 length
22.86 wide pin-to-pin
25.3 wide plastic socket edge-to-edge

Please correct me if I'm wrong on the specs.

One part number I've been searching on is Mill Max pn: 110-13-964-41-001000

I did see one reference to stacking (2) 32 dip sockets but I can't find any that match the needed width. Also, has anyone had luck using a socket strip? This would be a single line 32 sockets long soldered in the left side with another 32 socket strip soldered in the right side.

Regards

Huh. Have you ordered these before? It lacks a lot of specs so I'm hesitant. Of course it is literally 1/10th the price versus Mouser. I'm wondering if it is one of those 64pin Pitch 1.778mm DIP IC Sockets that are readily available now. The specs shown are SAE/inches (see rant).

RANT: As an American, I really do wish we would move to the metric system. The current 2-3 generations would slowly adapt and for the newest generation it would just be the norm.

Thanks for the PEmCO lead. I wound up ordering a bunch of basic hardware from them vs Mouser. I'm starting to accumulate parts for my Raemix 500. Pe's cost were under $6 for the parts vs $24 at Mouser. Granted the Mouser ones actually say Amphenol as the manufacturer.
