I have a feeling were not the only ones who feel this way. The price will dtop when they realise that

Hopefully. I really dont like the way the market is forming. Either i pay for a product or a service and I dont mind either, but being forced to do both does not sit right. I'm positive there'll be trials. All the others have, right?

I think the best thing to do would be to allow 60 days play time with a game - that way the adults (well, us anyway lol) would get enough time to see if we really enjoyed it enough to play longer. I think that would be fairer than £40 or so and only 30 days play time...

Cheers

John

Yes that would give me my usual time with a game before I get bored with it:)

To be fair, those of us that pre-ordered did get the chance to play the beta weekends which actually lasted nearly 4 days each, and now we have pre-release early game access before anyone can officially buy the game in stores, and that gives us a whole week of additional free game time, plus from the 20th we also get 30 days too, so I'm not complaining.

And if you actually saw the game you would quickly start to think it might be worth it because they have done an amazing job of combining the KOTOR world with the MMO system. So far I've mostly been playing alone with just my computer controlled companion, much like the first 2 KOTOR games and it feels pretty much the same, with similar involving story lines with loads of voice acted cut scenes and lots to do.

The game does throw some missions in that are however impossible for you to complete alone, forcing you to group up to defeat them. So it is good that you have to do that to expand on the game more, and are not able to just go through the whole thing solo.

Just purchased this after being on the fence for a while, Amazon say it should be delivered on Friday just in time for Christmas.

Before the first 20 levels WoW always had a 10 day trial. Not giving some kind of trial might put a lot of people off. I don't know though but as I stated before I am a WoW player and have no interest in Star Wars or paying for 2 MMORPG subscriptions.

I'm sure the retail price of the game will fall next year, as did most other popular MMOs. And look at WoW as an example as you can now play the first 20 levels for free, or Guildwars, where you can now play a 14 day trial for free... I'm sure at some point something similar will happen for SWTOR, but not sure how soon... the only issue is the game is published by EA, and we all know what they can be like.

A lot of the early adaptors are from WoW and are all saying they got bored of it, and that now they have made the move they are not going back.

SWTOR is quite different to most other MMOs and really does follow the same Bioware style of their previous KOTOR, as well as the Mass Effect games. Great storylines and good character acting. Plus there is a lot of variety in the character types available, plus the 2 difference classes you can pick around level 10 for each.

I've been playing some more this week and finally got my own ship today. Once you get to that point it opens the game up really nicely (as it did in the KOTOR) and you can then travel where you want (as long as you have the credits for fuel), plus the space battles are great... simplistic controls but great fun and not as easy as they first look... plus you can upgrade you ship just as you do your character, your compansions/crew etc. So much to do.

I finally finished everything on Coruscant and am now in Taris.

@bobsmith2012. PM me once you have the game and I can invite you into our guild (Afterdawn). We are on the server Frostclaw. Has members from all over the world, with the main goal to help each other with quests and levelling up, with the goal being to get everyone to the end of game story missions for their characters. So far the members have been really helpful for me, and I like to return the favour. Definitely PVE focused and not PVP. I personally have no interest in the PvP servers as I want to enjoy the game for its storyline and progression, not to get gunned down by kids all the time.
