When I disable the aca630 the hxc floppy emulator gives me a df0 exact like in manual.

When I enable the aca630 it is df3 and I get a df0 question mark, like there is no floppy for df0

When I put the jumper for df1 with aca630 I get a working df0 - exept when I add an external floppy drive/

All above behaviour can be tracked in early boot.

When I disable floppy on the aca630 every nag is gone including the df3 but of course no floppy drives :(

Yup strange, do I miss something

On ACA since you have HxC inside, you don't have to jumper anything.
HxC will be DF0 so remove any jumper.

Do you have jumper like this on HxC btw?

And is your 34pin ribbon cable, twisted or not?

Mfilos,

The picture you posted is exact no twist in the cable - it came from an a500.

Exact df0 with aca630 disabled.

df3 with aca630 - believe it or not - willing to post pics

thanks

I have a switch do disble aca630 like I need to for old stuff and a switch to disable floppy to safe boot time and a switch for rom..

Glad you are looking, I know you have some experience with this as well:roll:

hmmm DF3 is the last drive of the chain.
I see you desoldered your Serial/Parallel connectors.
Is it possible that some signal needs to be terminated?
I really don't know at all if anything needs to be modded there. Rogerio and Keith should know a lot more.

Did it work in the past (before the connectors removal)? We need to troubleshoot everything to locate the problem.
If HxC worked with it's firmware before, then we certainly need to focus on the desoldering spots (in case they short-circuit anything near)

I never had the floppy emulator running. It did nothing before on the amiga side. On the amiga part the removal of connectors was rather smooth. On the hxc part I might have blown of a part or resistor - not sure I need a picture of the back to be sure.

so close
