Hello everyone,
My A4000 Acil board has been running for 1 year and all tests with the test kit and various test programs and Diag Rom have been successfully passed.
Nevertheless behave the following:
Game Superfrog (only with this game can the behavior always be reproduced)
The game can be started regardless of whether it is from the disk or WHDLOAD and can also be played normally
But if I press any key (under WHD) and want to end the game with F10, I sometimes have to wait up to 1 minute.
I can even continue playing then suddenly it returns to wb
Sometimes I have to press the F10 key several times for this to happen
Boot from disc:
Here in the intro - trainer selection menu, as soon as I start with F1 or similar. If I select infinite lives I have to wait at least 30 seconds + for the next input.
This behavior also occurs from time to time in other games, but it is not always reproducible.
Various others Games such as e.g. PPHammer, Reshoot PRoxima, etc. run with code or something else input and , continue without any problems.
There must be a routine in some "area" at Superfrog where I have a quirk.
Just as strange is the fact that as soon as I change jumper J852 from 256k x 32 to 1Mb x 32, the system no longer boots
The question is what and which one.
If I start swapping the Ic's now I can build a new board straight away.
I strongly assume that the custom chips are all ok, what could possibly be a problem here is some kind of clock or something similar...
What I have already tried/swapped:
Both CIA (against new ones)
ADV7120 chip
U205
U216
C211C
Buster 9 to 11
All GALS with various timings 7,10 or 15 ns
Memory both chip and fast ram
2 different turbo cards A3660 and BFG
RTG cards in - out
Various software (WB versions and CF cards)
Early Setup Cache disabled (Whereby here comes (Guru Error: 0100 000F))
Since I'm not really happy with the system, I hope you can help me here.
At least maybe point me on the “right” track...
But the whole thing seems to take place in the Chip Ram area...
Or BUS error ..... or ... or
I hope someone can tell me what it could be. Maybe someone has had the same problem before
Kind regards
Christopher
