They say there are no stupid questions, but. . .
1. When I signed up they mentioned, if you are a trader, you need to notify the admins. What is the definition of a trader? Is that someone who sells on here, or is it just someone who intends to swap items with others.
2. They suggested activating two-step verification, which makes sense. So, I went to do that and it gives me two choices, the first, verification via app. Do I need to provide my own app? Is there a recommended app? If I click that, does it bring me to a page that walks me through setting it up?
Thanks for your help!

The trader definition is if you sell computer equipment to make a profit

1. The rule is that Members are not allowed to buy from Amibay to make a profit and traders are informed that they can sell their products here but if they purchase it must be for there own personal retro collection not to profiteer from it there use to also be a commercial seller section on the forum but due to the lack of commercial sellers this was section was removed.

Happy for you to Swap, Buy & Sell your retro gear on here just remember that buying on her with the intentions to make a profit elsewhere and vise versa buying elsewhere to make a profit on Amibay is against the forum rules and will result in a ban.

2. Google authenticator app is the one I use.

Thanks! So, anyone selling Amigas here is considered a trader. I guess I need to state somewhere I intend to sell some computers, then.

@NightRelic , no no traders are commercial sellers this is a community of retro enthusiasts who sell their equipment they are not using as much has they want to or swap for something they really want

OK, I guess i fit that retro enthusiast category, since I plan to keep one and play with it. But it would seem unlikely anyone would sell anything for exactly what they paid for it. Is that what actually happens here?

It is what you make out of it. i swapped an a501+ for genuine sicilian olive oil. great deal!

I think the Scalping rule explains this best (Click Me) and the price driving section (Click Me)

I think you're missing the point here.
A trader is someone who buys and sells items purely for the purpose of profit. That is not allowed here.
An enthusiast is someone who collects items as part of their hobby. They may buy to increase their collection or sell to reduce it. Profit is not the motivation.

If an enthusiast makes a profit from their sale because the market value of their item has increased, that's fine.
Selling an item simply because you want to make a profit is a no no.
