Hi all, i have just bought a boxed Super Famicom from Japan so am offloading my UK Snes. Its in nice clean condition with minimal yellowing.
It has had a SuperCIC chip fitted by myself and so will play games from all regions. The only thing about this is although it will play US carts i have not filed down the cartridge slot as i don't own a US cart for size reference.
Will come with original PSU, RF cable (will require tuning of tv), 3 controllers, 1x official 2x 3rd party, and Super Mario All Stars. The official controller has started to yellow.
The SuperCIC chip is a region free replacement CIC lockout chip which has 3 modes which are identified by the power LED colour.
Green LED - 50Hz PAL this will force games to play at 50hz PAL (even NTSC cartridges will play at 50hz).
Orange LED - Automatic - the chip will detect the region of the game and set the console to the correct setting.
Red LED - 60Hz NTSC this will force games to play at 60hz NTSC (allowing pal games to work in full screen).
There is a side note to this though, if you start a Pal game with the 60Hz NTSC setting it will start the game in 50Hz and wait 10 seconds before switching to 60Hz. This is to bypass any region/refresh rate checks. Also some games may exhibit odd behaviour running at 60hz. The Super Mario Bros cartridge that is supplied with the machine has a flickering sky when running at 60hz.
I am hoping to get £60 plus p&p for this nice starting setup.
