I paid for a copy of amiga explorer years ago
using a null modem cable and an old laptop
i can transfer adf files direct to the a500 drive
Obviously if I format all sectors with xcopy pro
the file size is 880kb

There’s a certain amiga format coverdisk I want and the image is 904kb??
If I try to drag and drop it over says file size too big
I’m guessing this was a copy protection that amiga format used to stop you blowing a copy?
They were very clever chaps at that mag
Any ideas what I can do?
I will probably try and find a real copy but also if I want to do some in the future I’d like to know how to get around it

Oh and lastly I’m going to make a a500 Rev 5 pal model into a ntsc machine
(As I cannot seem to find one)
Ordered the correct crystal and Fat Angus chip
Is that all I will need?

Thanks for your time

Many thanks
Paul

Can anyone help me please
Would love your opinions on these
Thanks

Paul,

If you can mount the .adf file using something like ImageMount (WB 2.0+) which you can find on Aminet, then you should be able to use XCopy to backup the image to a real disk. You would need to change the amount of tracks to write to 81 instead of 79 though.

This is only guesswork here, but nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Of course, a gotek as DF1: could also achieve the same result ;)

So there's no community here? Wrong website?

I beg to differ :)
