After 20 yrs of being in a shed, I was over the moon to re-ignite my CD32 after reading about the excellent TF cards from terrible fire.

Having now purchased the TF328 and 330, and using the CD32 daily at this point for maybe 6 months - I decided to have re-capped and purchased a new PSU.

Everything has been running perfectly. I used it for around 6 hours yesterday evening playing some games with no issues.

Returned home from work today and turned on the machine to some strange graphical artefacts on the wb screen. (see photos)

There is also something really strange going on with my chip / fast ram readings.

The mouse is very slow to respond when dragging a file on wb, and opening them seems to take an age.

I turned the machine off, removed the expansion cards and turned the stock machine on connected via composite.

I get a grey screen. The CD drive will spin and disk light flash when I insert an official game, but the screen remains grey and the disk activity eventually stops.

I connected the original PSU (working - I only upgraded as was having power issues with the expansion card in).

On the original PSU, the power light flashes 6 times but the screen remains grey.

Anyone had something similar, or know how to resolve?

I'm a little heartbroken!

well, can't say for sure what's broken - may be original CPU or Chip RAM, maybe an issue with Akiko chip..
Have built about 20x TF330 cards for now but haven't seen that pattern before..

Next step to check faults is by removing original Kickstart and use DiagROM, this will help to see if it's booting in "Safe Mode", You will be able to scan ram, check CIA timings and do some other tests.

Hi, what do you get via the RGB riser with no TF attached?

Original PSU = 6 flashes of the power light, black screen which is attempting to reload every second. Signal is detected by tv.
Upgraded PSU = stable power light, black screen. Signal is detected by tv.

Thanks for all suggestions guys.

Interestingly, I thought I would stick the TF328 in and see what happens.

6 flashes of the power light, black screen... then...

WB loads, but with the same graphical artefacts and sluggish response of mouse.

Have the capacitors been changed in the CD32? Might be worth opening and checking for leakage. My CD32 was a bit funny with the TF330 before a recap.

So Me and Mitchtaylor were emailing about his faulty CD32, I sent him the brilliant `Diagrom` by Chucky Hertell and we concluded that ram was bad and sharp eyed luke noticed a shot capacitor by Ram U16 so to cut a long story short he sent the board to me and I hacked the bad capacitor and swapped out two rams from a donor board for his two bad rams and we have saved another CD32 from the scrap bin :)
