Terrible Fire for the A1200

This maybe a silly question, but I was wondering why there wasn't a terrible fire (or similar open source accelerator) for the A1200?

I have a TF330 and love it, it'd be great to have something similar for my 1200.

Obviously there are various commercial boards still out there, although most seem to be pretty hard to find in stock these days.

Sadly the creator of the TerribleFire cards decided not to progress with making the A1200 version for mainstream buyers due to an argument with another Amiga community member over copying of his designs.

The Terriblefire 1260 does exist, you can see it here TF1260 stuff - exxos's Atari, Amiga & retro forum (exxoshost.co.uk), but he has stated that he will only make them for close friends etc.

The TF1230 completed design was confirmed on April 1st by Stephen, apparently some completed boards will find their way into Amiga retailers hands in due course. This is assuming it wasn't an April fools joke!

Very helpful, thanks, I hadn't seen that before.

Shame the card won't be available in the wild but understandable given the creator had a bad experience in the past, must be a lot of work designing and testing these boards.

Still, nice to know work like this still continues.

Very interesting, hopefully it wasn't a joke. Do you have a link to the announcement? (Don't worry, I found the link).

Make sense that he's gone down the commercial route if the open source approach caused issues. Will be great to see the card in action.

That does seem like being turned away from a nightclub because you are wearing trainers or don't have a tie to go into a restaurant.

But to each their own, it's their product after all.
