I just wanted to point out that the buyer (at least in Germany) is the importer which has to pay import duties fee about 19% (of value of goods PLUS shipping costs) on top if the custom "police" wants that. There is even a § which states that they can get extra amount if the value exceeds €350 IIRC.
No worries, anyone can call that "VAT" but you only pay VAT in germany as a private person on goods and services bought. I just wanted to point that out so no one would be badly surprised...
A hassle free idea is to use the DHL services.

To my knowledge, there are no additional duties on top of the VAT for stuff like electronics. This is usually reserved for items like clothing and such.
So all you are expected to pay is the VAT plus a small processing fee, which is usually 10-15 euros and varies by shipping company and country. I think for Germany I may have to use DHL instead of UPS to avoid delays from now on, but on the plus side the delivery will be faster (2-3 days usually).
