I just got myself a TF1260 with a 68060 rev 6 CPU.
The problem I am having is that I am only getting 4MB/s read speeds from the IDE interface on the TF1260. I've seen people getting 6MB/s and higher.
I am using kickrom 3.2.2 chips with the ehide.device in ROM. I am also using MMULib and MuFastROM to remap the kickrom into Fast RAM.
I've tried a bunch of different CF cards and tested in WB3.1 and AmigaOS 3.2.2.1 but still getting 4MB/s.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong? :?:

IIRC this is more or less what I also got when I tested mine , I am using a "Kingston Ultimate 266x 16GB" CF
perhaps more speed is attainable by using an SD card but I never bothered to look more into it

Interesting. I dont have any ide-sd adapters to test with. I have only tested with different generation Sandisk CF cards.
The weird thing is that when I am using MuFastROM the speed isnt increasing att all … it is even lower by 150-200kb/s

tbh I did not even test with MMULIBS installed
pretty sure the system is running with the phase5 060 lib

nope sorry
what I tested was the idefix express and amigakit fastide1200 , the TF ide was always faster

I run with a rev 6 060 on my TF1260 and get around 4 mbs - I am using a long cable to my CF card (out the front of a checkmate case) and a buffered IDE adapter. If I overclock to 94 or 100 mhz that goes up to just under 5mbs. I am using MMUlibs nd MuFastRom etc. I am not sure I have seen anyone getting that much faster?
The only one of my setups that gets quicker is my B1260 using its SCSI kit which is up around 8mbs.

Here is an example https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6632

And in Jan Beta’s video

Perhaps I am doing something wrong - if you find the magic answer I would defintiely be interested.....but for my purposes 4 mbs is sufficient.

He is also running a 'lighter' workbench then my system, which may make a difference.

Yes, I will :)

Trust me, I've tried multiple setups of WB/AmigaOS .. still the same speed

I have also asked for help at exxosforum.co.uk https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=7554

Have you tried PFS3 filesystem? Best one I’ve used is version 20.0 (Beta 5) also known as version 3.2. I use the 4096 Block size etc.

Yes, also tried the "new" FFS in AmigaOS 3.2 as a "sanity check"
I've tried different block sizes and am aware of what it can do.

Maybe add buffers in the startup sequence like addbuffers DH0: 50 , don't know if it will help

I got 6 MB/s with IDE controller from the TF 1260. I'm using the latest firmware 68090 and use the ehide.device version of the site from Hertell: https://wordpress.hertell.nu/?page_id=1161

I got this result with my Sandisk 4 gb Extreme IV CF and the cheap blue branded CF cards which I got from supaduper when I bought a TF 1260 from him.

My boot CF has AGS image version 2.7 AGA Real Hardware and MMULib version 47.5. The Amiga 1200 is fitted with Kickstart 3.2.2 and ide CF adapter version V.H2 on the TF1260.
TF1260 has a 68060 rev 1.

I am als using the latest firmware and have verified it with the TF cpuspeed tool.
The ehide.device is burned to the kickrom 3.2.2 so my TF1260 boots from the built in IDE interface on the TF1260
I have also tried the same setup as you with AGS 2.7 and the latest MMULib version, tried 8, 16, 32, 64GB Sandisk Ultra and Extreme CF cards ... still 4MB/s

This is very annoying, I can call myself an experienced Amigauser but this issue I am having is a mystery to me.

I am starting to suspect that there is something wrong with my CF adapter ... I have ordered the one's made for TF cards from Alinea but the shipping is extra slooow this time so I haven't recieved them yet.

Yeah they are having locale strikes there, so it's a few days more

Ah.
The sad thing here is that the shipment has in Sweden but it’s currently stuck in our very slow handling of shipments from abroad. It is like it is marinating somewhere for as long as it takes. Same old story when your order stuff from abroad here in Sweden 😣

Check your partition's MaxTransfer settings.

Set to 0x1FE00 from the default and 50 buffers on each one. Don't forget to press enter on each change or it won't take effect

See if that helps any.
