The number that's calls me comes up 'number with held' on my handset so I can't report it make any in roads to blocking it sadly.

ahh the joy of conversations with ppl you could`t give a rats arse about, sometimes wish me phone would ring but to be honest I like my life without coldcallers

Had a few of these calls and i thought i would have fun with them.

First one that called i was playing the very first call of duty so i had the sound turned up and said i was very sorry but i was busy killing taliban scum and that he had to speak louder. The gimp did just that he was shouting over the phone asking me all sorts of questions so i pretended to get shot and die

Second time they rang and i knew who it was i handed the phone to my 3 year old who kept calling them farty assy and pansie head.

Never heard from them again.

I actually had a (real) giggle at Merlin's opening post
"Has your computer booted up yet?"
"Yes, in three seconds"

As for nuisance calls, EON are the worst without doubt. Thay call me twice a day, every weekday.
It appears (as per Google) that it's a bot calling to register the time you answer, so that a real salesperson can call you same time next day.

My bruv takes a kind of perverted enjoyment concerning the cold callers... "yes I want new PVC doors front and back, new windows throughout, new fascia, soffits and gutters."
" just call the housing association for payment terms"

End of call...

my land line plays a nice recorded message to anyone who trys to withhold thier number when dialed, my end the phone doesnt ring.
worth the £2 a month. anyone else who phones i get there number and report it as we are on the TPS "Telephone Preference Service" and they are breaking laws of ignored. Not sure how much power the TPS have against foreign cold callers.

I rarely get unwanted calls, but my strategy is just to make strangled Wookie noises into the handset until they hang up.

Tech: Are you sitting at your computer?
Me: Yes.
Tech: What can you see?
Me. It's switched on and I am looking at a blue bootup screen.
Tech. Ok, press the 'start' button.
Me. I don't see a 'start' button.
Tech: Your computer is switched on, yes?
Me: Yes, of course it is!
Tech: Ok, then press the Windows Key on the keyboard.
Me. My keyboard doesn't have a Windows key.
Tech: What version of Windows are you running?
Me: Are you telling me that my machine is actually running Windows?
Tech: Yes.
Me. Wow! I didn't know that they did Windows for my computer.
Tech: OK. Does it say anything on your computer screen?
Me. Yes. There's a message on the screen.
Tech: What does the message say on the screen?
Me: "Commodore Basic V2 - 38911 bytes free, then it says Ready."
Tech: What?!?
Me: My computer is a Commodore 64....
*click*

That so funny :lol::lol::thumbsup:

I feel somewhat left out!

I have had my landline ring a few times in the past 3 or 4 years. I've only answered it probably 3 times.

The first was British Gas trying to get me to switch. I asked what their unit rates were for gas and electric, then told them what I was already getting (i.e. much lower) and they had absolutely nothing to say in response. They never called me again.

Can't remember what the second call was. Probably a creditor chasing me for money (indiscretions of a previous life). They most likely got short shrift. Creditors don't telephone me now.

The third was this weekend and it was a silent call. Probably a robocaller after something.

I love messing with cold callers. Wish I had more opportunity :)

I've had Indian guys call my landline claiming they are from Microsoft support... They try and tell me that my computers got a virus and then i tell them i work for Microsoft support too (which i don't :D). They hang up immediately!

I had my second call today!!! :D

They told me that my version of Windows was infected and
that they could see my broadband was running slowly.

I told them that I am running an iMac and he didn't even twig! :double

In the end I had to tell him that I wasn't running Windows and he hung up...

:coffee:
