Hi

After building all new C64 with EliteBoard, and A500+ with Raemixx500, it's time to make all new AGA machine.
I haven't actually decided what to build. Re-Amiga 1200 seems to be an obvious choice, but Acill's A4000 might also be worth it. I'm just concerned that building the A4000 would probably turn quite expensive and time consuming, as I would most likely end up making all new transparent case and keyboard replica, as all the other machines I made also have a transparent case.

Any thoughts, ideas, experiences with these builds?

Most new/NOS parts for these machines I already have or know where to get them. On top of my mind, I'm not sure only where to source 416c256 RAMs and 3mhz cap for A1200, also I'm not sure where to get CPU and combined serial-parallel connectors for A4000...

BR,
E.

Yes the system will be expensive for sure. Well worth it. 1200 is kinda boring IMO, and 3000 requires very hard to find SuperDMAC, so 4000 is a logical choice.
Pending a quote for a custom 4000 replica metal desktop case, I will have a 4000 board myself. Good luck. Decisions, decisions

Thanks for all the answers!

@DjCook Akiko32 is cute, but I'm not looking for a gaming rig. Rather something I can connect old and new expansions to.
@Marinero70 A4000TX seem to be well done, but I'd like to preserve the original shape of the machine.

@qz3fwd Now I'm leaning towards A4000 again... You are right. A1200 is kind of boring, :) and still needs around 600 components to be soldered in. I actually have a guy who can, and I quote: "Cut, bend, press, mill and drill anything, out of any metal", and he will most likely charge me nothing for it. He "just" needs the AutoCAD drawings of what I want.
