(Not actually from Tokyo).
My plans for repairing this laptop has been cut short. I don't have the time plus I bought another from Taj so this is surplus to requirements. I have owned this for some number of years (2005/6 onwards) and it has served me well during my college days. Theres a few light marks on the top of the lid and a couple of standard XP and Intel stickers missing but other then that it's in real nice shape considering how much i lugged it about (mind you it was always bagged).
However it developed a fault with some screen lines down the screen. When I pinch the top of the screen they seem to dissapear but it just seems to be getting steadily worse and seems to have halted upto this point. Also the original CD / DVD drive broke (the tray came out and took the ribbon with it.
) so I got this replacement kindly thru a friend but that seems to not work either so that needs to be looked at if you want a working drive. Everything else however seems to be A-OK. Also it will need a hard drive since I have removed it and use it as an external one now. Oh I almost forgot it's missing a couple of rubber feet but you can get hold of some on eBay quite often.
The old AC adapter died long ago but I since replaced it with one that has a fan inside it and it has been fantasically reliable and is alot better quality.
Heres the specs from the official website:

Price well I am only asking £40 + P+P.
