I just saw yahoo about Toys Collections...such as Matchbox(Fav of mine and I did collect lots when I was little:D), Star Wars(I used to have them as they were Ace!), ThunderBirds and so on

I am wondering if you still got them as collections? Interesting to know :)

My grandma had thousands of matchbox cars all brand new in there box on shelving units around the house. Sadly as she reached the later years of her life and went a little senile we visited one day and they were no where to be seen. When we asked her she said she had sold them all to a collector. Turned out she sold them all to some random person for just £10 :(

Yessir! A little over 200 Transformers figures.

OLD Matchbox Toys are so Valueable

I remember when I was little that I didnt know the boxed itself is so important and I had about 1,000 different cars all in Barnsley Bags. I got bored of them when I got older and sold it to Car Boot :picard

When I look at Matchbox toys on Ebay and it seem like reminding me what it like to have it on my hand....it was so cute and when you open them, to see a whatever car is....It just Amazing on how they made them!

Full set of a year of matchbox model of yesteryear from sometime in the early 80's.. all boxed as new, the following years lledo models, full set all boxed, loads of limited editions, frosties cars etc all boxed. And a boxed corgi metro that was done for princess dianas wedding..

All sat in the loft, used to have them in display cases, but when we moved here (93 ish) I decided to just keep them boxed up.

I'm a big collector of Star Wars vintage toys.

I've got every original figure and most of the ship's still boxed. I've also got a couple of the original figures still carded and sealed in their bubble blisters.

And in the 90's started collecting all the new releases of figures and boxed vehicles and other stuff, but stopped collecting those once they started repeating figures. But I do sometimes get one if I like it.

Also have tons of other Star Wars items including a complete collection of novels, and every Star Wars video game.

I collected candy boxes. while it is a silly thing to collect, it is at least a trip down memory lane. and who knows, maybe some nut will pay for them at some point ;)

while i thought it was an unique thing to collect, once i stayed over at my third cousins place he had a box of old candy boxes in the guest room. either he have got the idea from me back in the day or it was not that uncommon.

I've sort of become a bit of a Lego collector in recent years.

The one thing Star Wars related I've not collected has been the Star Wars Lego. Really wanted the millennium falcon for a long time but was too expensive to justify the cost. Also it's more stuff to find storage space for.

I'm thinking that when he is old enough, Thomas is going to like Lego. ;-)

Everyone likes Lego. I know this from listening to people in the street looking at our window display and because one evening we got this through our door.

Yes it's not cheap.
In the previous two photos you're looking at over £1300 (1600 euros) of Lego.

At some point I will get the millenium falcon to add to the star wars stuff. Our next project and window display is train related though, so I've been buying tracks and trains. The first display will be a haloween theme and only contains two static trains, the plan long term though is to have an actual functional lego powered train system on multiple levels. Total cost estimated to be around £1500, so that's going to take a while to get together. :D

For me it was Scalextric until I got back into retr0 computing. Sadly the hobby hs taken a back seat with the cars now becoming dusty relics along with the permanant track that is currently up against the bedroom wall.

One day I hope to be able to get back into it again somewhat though I hate to see the prices new slot cars are these days especially the wonderful Slot.it ones. :(

This is most of them but there is about 10 to 15 complete boxed sets in the loft dating mostly from the 80's and 90's. So there's about 20 to 30 cars not pictured here. :)

That's a nice collection . I'd also love a Scalextric collection, or even just a few cars and a decent track. There are just way too many things to be interested in in this world :)

Thank you indeed, I do love large Lego creations, especially when people make villages and massive naval vessals. I used to have K'nex when it was still pretty new as a kid. I wish I had the attention span then like I do now as I had all the mod cons, I could build something called a "Ball Machine". I even had the optional AC motor! Really regret selling it all as I never did build that or the 1m high ferris wheel. :(

Most of my Star Wars collection is in the loft... in fact it is in 2 lofts. My own and my parents. They keep moaning that it needs to go, which I can see their point a bit as it takes up about half of the total loft floor space (about 20 ft x 30ft)

Here are a couple of very old picture from my old study.

Vintage_figures.jpg

Vintage Figure Collection - Each figure on plastic display stands.

You can also see a few other things. Special Edition 300th star Wars figure of Boba Fett, a couple of 70's 12" action figure Kirk and Spock, A ghost Obi-Wan, and some newer boxed droids.

R2D2_phone.jpg

R2-D2 Telephone (head rotates, lights flash and he talks when it rings - handset is in his arm).

When i get time I really need to spend a couple of days in my parents loft to go through the whole collection. Will tale loads of pictures and post a thread about the collection.

Gen 1 Transformers is what me and my Son collect :) He also has around 50 newer transformers from The new movies and cartoons (Animated and Prime).

Here's a shot the other day of us both playing with our Gen 1's. Its a mixture of originals and reissues.
