trouble with background OS3.9

Hi,

Im having trouble setting background in OS 3.9 to use 256 colours without dithering.
I have some good looking 256 colour images for background I want to use.
I have set display prefs to 256 colours using the Extreme driver at high res.
Any help would be great.

I never did it myself but people tend to use personal paint to convert images and full pallette to get the backgrounds look the best.

I am sorry I can't give you more information, I tend to use backgrounds and pallettes already done

Can you send me a screenshot of your OS3.9 palette and a couple of pics to try converting them to that palette without dithering?
