Hi Guys,

i hope someon has the one hint for me to solve my problem:

Have an towered A1200 with Blizzard PPC 060/50 / ppc603+ 240 and 128MB RAM + Bvision.

have tried this with two different HDD , booth in perfect condition. My Problem:

First i tried this: Building on Partition (2GB "standard file system", blocksize 2048, with "bootable" and "monted" option), the installed the OS. After finish (without any errors) i reboot the machine after removing fdd and CD. (turned it off for 20 seconds and then on - like the manual recommens.

but the OS does not boot. on the upper left corner pops an "standard Error-Window" with the text. "please insert dos partition in drife dh0"

tried the same with making one SFS partintion, blocksize 512...

The same Problem.

Second Try. Leavin this installation on Disk. Booted with the OS4.1 Install FDD and created a second partition (bootable, mounted, SFS or FFS tried booth...)

Installed the OS at this partition and finished the procedure. Same problem after rebooting.

But: If i now boot from the Install-FDD untill the AmigaOS-Screen appears, i softreset the miggy, remove the FDD, the OS is booting from the HDD (the OS from the second Partition i Think).

But every change i make (change language, screen resolution etc) is not saved. after rebooting the miggy with the FDD-Booting-trick (without is no booting possible), no konfig-changes made (screen resolution is the "old", language is the "old" english insted of the selected german...

The Lizzard board is configured correctly (MapROM option is set to OFF)

Any hints? I´m desperatig... :help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:

solved!

Solved the Problem. installed OS3.9, created a new partition. After this and booting from the 4.1 Install-Disk i installed OS4.1 at this partition. Now all works fine, OS4.1 starts... :)

Glad you solved it, OS4.1 Classic can be a little tricky to install and is fussy with partitions/file systems

Oh, you are right. Installed the OS many dozens times and spent a lot of time for this. Last time I was back for a whole night in front of the problem. My wife has all the next day not a word spoken to me ... But the Problem was solved after this marathon... :D

But now all is fine. Except the "SRAM TEST FAIL..." during the Ariadne installation-process at my A4000D. But this is another Project. frodegh supports me as well as he can.

Do you have any idea how I can solve the problem without replacing any chip at the Board? (we found this hint here at the forum...)

regards
