If any Commodore device in recent history has demanded a case, it's the UK1541.

Here is my latest creation.

This design offers easy access to the SD card, top buttons, IEC port, and joystick port plug. It doesn't block any of the screen area, provides full visual access to the numerous LEDs, and keeps the IR receiver open. It is furthermore as compact a design as possible (only about 7mm wider than the board itself.

This is what I ended up with.

The side walls are 3mm thick, all corners are filleted for strength. The lid is thick for rigidity, but still allows for the surface mounted parts on the face of the board to not be impacted. Only four screws need be removed to allow access to the back of the board should you need to replace the button battery.

My plan is to make this case available in the following colors:

Black, White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange, Purple, Grey.

As usual, the case will come pre-fitted with all the required heatsets and hardware.

The price for this case is $40.00 USD plus $10.80 USD airmail worldwide shipping.

Here are some photos of the first production case. I will be posting photos of cases in other colors as I get them run off my printers.

So, here are some more photos. Pictures of the interior, which you guys haven't seen yet. Also, different colored cases. The blue that I happen to have as it turns out is a translucent blue. Turned out very cool.

H thomas, kisiel must change the switches with longer one. Because in your case , its very hard to push switches like this style. I wrote to him for this situation. By.

Thank-you for your comment. Yes, the switches ended up being a ways in there because of the thickness the case had to be. I find I can reach them with my baby-finger, however, if Kisiel could start putting longer switches on his boards, that would certainly solve that problem, and make the switches easier to access with the case.

Could you post a photo of your case with the replaced long switches that you put on your board? I'm sure everyone would love to see them.

Thanks.

Dear Thomas , please find the image.

Hello.

Yes, transparent PLA printed UK1541 cases can be done, it's just that nobody has yet asked for one of those. Always different colors.

I'm printing one right now so that I may show a photo of what it looks like. Standby, I'll post something soon.

The case looks nice indeed. There's no transparent option?

Thanks for that!

Here's the finished transparent PLA UK1541 case, deployed with my UK1541 in it. I love how the LED colors radiate through the transparent PLA material the case is printed from.

Hope you like that photos.
