So obviously we knew things would change with Brexit, Prices would rise, incur custom charges and more customs forms to fill in :picard

I also had first-hand experience with a monitor sent before Brexit, getting returned to sender due to the UK to France border ban because of the new Covid strain. When he got a quote back to resend the shipping costs were almost doubled by the same shipping company.

I'm trying to get a quote to sent an Elbox A1200 tower case to the Netherlands with the dimensions of 60cm x 55cm x 45cm weighing 10kg, I got a quote using parcel monkey for just over £16 which I was pleasantly surprised, however when you go into the customs form fill they want a HS Code (also know has Harmonized System Code, HTS Code, Tariff Code or Commodity Code) for each item in the parcel. they do provide a link to the Gov website to help you find the correct code but it is not the best. here is a link https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff

When I type computer case, "Computer case with PSU" comes up (even though there is no PSU in the case I want to send) but when you click on it the option it gives aren't very clear

Has anyone else here sent to the EU after Brexit with a similar item if so which code did you use or do you know of an easier service. or if you understand this coding system can you let me know the code for a computer tower case without PSU

Giving Parcels2go a try now I will let you know if I run into the same issues or if the are a little simpler.

Parts of a computer

Parts are items that are essential to the operation of a computer.

These are covered by heading 8473 - ‘Parts and accessories (other than covers, carrying cases and the like) suitable for use solely or principally with the machines of headings 84 70 to 84 72.’

Parts are covered by Note 2 to section XVI. Note 2 applies subject to the exclusions listed in Note 1 to Section XVI, Chapters 84 and 85.

Hi!

I have a similar problem, I'm in Spain, and I have some JAP games for sale.

Prior to Brexit if I had to send any game to UK, I would just ship the game and everything is fine...

Now I have to make a pro-forma invoice with data about the goods, it's price and ID information both for the sender and the recipient (5 copies also)

Also, you must specify the TARIC number for the goods, in case of videogames or consoles its https://www.taricsupport.com/nomenclatuur/9504500000.html if I understand it correctly...

I can understand this is needed now that UK is outside the EU, and this will be a pain for all us (whenever we are in EU or UK), but I have the following problem with documentation:

In Spain all citizens have the NIF (numero identificacion fiscal - Tax ID number) so whenever you make an official document or invoice, you put there your NIF

I was told by the courier service to make the pro-forma invoices and include identification information for sender and recipient, but people in UK doesn't have this kind of number or ID information, do they?

Anyone has faced this before?

I'd love a list of forum related TARIC numbers. That said you can pretty much just pick up something related with the same tax rate and it's ok.

So little update:

Parcels2Go so far seem a lot easier but are a little bit more costly (only a little bit), if the interested party buys the item I'm selling, I will let you all know how it goes.

Thanks @miggymad but I'm still confused and I think parcel monkey need to sort this side of it out, it is the job after all.

What I've seen of parcel2go is you just write a description of what you are sending and that's that.

Parcel Monkey want a description and a code, maybe its there way of keeping things cheaper but in my eyes they should be making it has easy has possible for the customer, I don't want to have to search through loads of list to find my items code and then worry that I've put the wrong one in  I just wanna order my delivery, it get collected and then shipped, arrives, happy buyer, and I go on happily about my day.

Hello,

Just want to chime in here - when I send to non-EU zones I always use taric code 84719000, and never had a problem to either USA, Japan, Australia or Russia.

Just an Update: Parcels2go worked well for me and was an ease

thanks for the comments, I now have a code to work with I might give Parcel Monkey ago with the next item a sell aboard

hope this has helped other too

@timtheloon

Take a look at https://www.dpdlocal-online.co.uk/ as well. It's all click on the group icon that the item fits in and the codes are all worked out for you. The site is a breeze to use, it's well laid out and informative. All costs are upfront from the start with no sneaky extras added at checkout.

Thanks Tim nice to see this tread has not been hijacked like so many. Well done for a solution
