Un-opened A1200s to be had...

So these aren't the same as the other magic packs that he was selling. i.e the incomplete ones that were signed?

These are proper un-opened old stock?
 
I think these are just the same as his previous shipments. So they will include grimy cables, brown mouses and autographs all over the place...
 
Oh, they may be the same ones. I thought that they were a new batch, but now I'm not too sure.

It looks like a new batch as it states he will be receiving them in December 2013. It is not clear however that they are unopened.
 
So it does. So it is a new batch. It was the photo that made me assume they are un-opened.

Yes they are, at least mine was.

And it was clean, apart from what McVenco mentioned about the PSU and mouse.

The only thing I had to do was replacing the Escom troubled floppy drive and it booted up at first time, I did however use my atx psu, never use the one supplied with it!

You've been advertising A1200s on your front page even though you've not had any in years.

With that in mind I recon the bloke who'll actually sell me one is pretty great.
 
Does anyone know why he signs them, other than perhaps to devalue them by circa 30% ? :unsure:

or perhaps just to give the new owner a headache trying to remove indelible ink without damaging the outer casing

He didn't sign my 1200 since I asked him not to. Otherwise I can't imagine it should be a problem to wipe it off with some ethanol, which won't damage the case.

While my 1200 package was in a bit poorer condition than expected (mainly the accessories), it wasn't too bad and the 1200 itself looked great. While he may not be my super hero, I still don't regret buying it, and I think it is great that he imports them and sells them on like he does. I would hate to think about all those Amigas sitting on those shelves, deteriorating even further (they are due for cap replacement and many won't last 5 more years in storage). For the same reason, a sealed chassis doesn't make any sense to me, unless you are going for a non-working display piece.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thought this "NOS" and pen scribble nonsense was exactly that.
 
They are NOS.

After 30 years plastics go weird, especially the rubbery stuff used for leads. Usually cleans up easily enough.

Thing is being NOS doesn't mean good condition. Warehouses are not stasis booths, they are big massive buildings with the doors left open 24/7 and people bashing Forklifts into stuff. After 20 years all you can expect is they haven't been rained on, especially when everyone who works there thinks it's just abandoned junk that will never sell.

Yet amigakit's were fully tested, cleaned and complete before shipping.
Guess your the poster over on another forum, causing issues with anything I say.
