Use my Amiga 1200 mouse with my PC

Hi all,

I have a mint NOS Amiga 1200 case with a Keyrah inside that I use as my main PC keyboard; to complete the look I'd really like to use my original Amiga 1200 mouse with my PC too.

I have an Amiga joystick to USB adapter which works well with all my old joysticks but doesn't work with my mouse.

Does anyone know of a solution?

The Amiga mouse is not a bus mouse (in fact it's as simple as it gets) so an active converter will be required.
Don't know if any actually exists, though. Usually the interest is in the other way round (serial-to-Amiga, PS/2-to-Amiga, USB-to-Amiga).

You could hack the PCB of an actual optical PS/2 or USB mouse into the A1200 mouse casing, similar to this hack.

Then, if you're happy with the functional result, you could perhaps use the original A1200 mouse cable, cutting-off the DB9 connector and installing a PS/2 or USB plug to fit the PC and improve the visual aesthetics that way. Of course only 4 of the 8 wires the original cable has would be needed.
