great news guys and would be great for a 1200 version too

I know someone that would be very very mad if it happens!!!!

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.......

I bet he's wishing he thought of that 1st,

Not talking about prices but I doubt a 100mips accelerator from ******* would cost anything near as cheap as kipper2k is.. amazing value, just waiting for the A1200 version to be announced so I can join I'm guessing a VERY long queue :D

Yes... he needs a lesson of humility... I am saving my euros to order one card for my 600 and waiting for Vampire 500 to fit in my 500+

I am currently finalizing a purchase order to obtain the A1200 edge connectors. It has gone through the design process so i am just waiting for the cost estimate.

Kipper2, you may also find the connectors for the Amiga 4000 cpu?

Just in case we manage to convince Majsta to build the Vampire 4000...

It seems that my complete work and research will be stopped by my customs. Today again new call from them and again problems. So future development of Vampire series of accelerators is in huge risk. I can't imagine what could happen if I order some motherboard or something. Package I have now at customs seems to be the last one I will order for long time. What can I say we will need to find another way for future development. Problem is that I can't design Vampire 1200 or 4000 and to expect to have everything working from first design. I need lot of prototypes so ordering needs to be constant and in large quantities. Then I will have again problems with customs and I think that starting next project can get me into lot of problems.

Given how significant your work would be to a large number of people on here - there must be ways to help with this and make it feasible?

Ouch!@,

Is this my package that they have that i sent to you? If you get a business license (or equivalent) will they then leave you alone. There will be a solution somehow, even if it is in smaller packages or mail it to your workplace etc.

Don't despair yet :)

Awesome new expansion
Hope it all gets resolved :)
I am still saving some cash so I can hopefully get one to.

It seems that my complete work and research will be stopped by my customs. Today again ...

Go to customs and carry with you some broken boards to prove they are defective and replaced items from the previous shipment...

what does MIPS stand for?

Million instructions per second
Meaningless Information Performed by Salesmen :p

In fact, MIPS are not a true scale of performance. Pending the instruction it can take up to eight cycles on a giving CPU/architecture.

When you are using the same architecture then it gives a good indication of its performance.I think almost all Amiga users base performance on Sysinfo whether it be correct or otherwise it gives a value that can be used to compare against various HW addons

@kipper2k - Top work there manufacturing it, I always felt this was the way forward for this project i.e. delegate out some of the work load  - very cool

@ Majsta - Thank you for making this possible, I think the Amiga community has waited ages for some 100-300mips potential, this could make many magic things happen within the community I believe  Incredible stuff

Awesome

Yes all of this is just a start and basically everyone should consider this as piece of hardware for future development and for the first time in Amiga history we have Accelerator we can upgrade by normal way, not forcing anything by adding crystals on higher freq and adding heat sink or something. Those days I will add few compiled cores on my site so everyone can use core that he needs. For now I will not force it too much cores capable of 3,6 and 7 Mips should be enough for start. Fastest one gives amazing performance when you surf so I will tweak that one little more.

@rkauer I agree what you say about SysInfo but also I must agree what kipper2k said because everyone use SysInfo. Maybe you noticed that last month on eab I have published other "real" testings with tools provided for Apollo-core and authors of that tools was satisfied with my results and said that acceleration is real and acts like it should be.

Also for this last version I noticed that after proving few new technical concepts regarding Voltage Level Translation work in workbench is lot faster. Using the same core on 2 different boards gives the same SysInfo result but on last one icons, drawers opens much quickly, programs starts quicker. After all I started to wonder that Amiga chipset works better with LVCMOS than on original CMOS. This could lead to huge technical discussion in the future opening lot of other possibilities. I must admit that this is very strange to me because I didn't actually used LVCMOS, I converted everything to BiCMOS and got amazing results???
