Closed Vampire boards for sale

I've got a problem with my board an am unsure how to proceed - so thought I'd mention here to see if anyone else has had similar symptoms....
On receiving the board, I 'plumbed' it into one of my A600s - unfortunately, it wouldn't boot - my A600 has chosen that moment to decide it needed a recap - as had my previous board a couple of weeks earlier. I did get it to boot if I left it for 5 minutes to 'warm up', and booted to workbench - reporting 1m Chip and 64mb Fast. Was nice and speedy too. I couldn't load any WHDLOAD games tho.
Not too worry, I thought, get it recapped and all will be well. I invested in TheCorfiot's well reknown and respected repair services (thanks TC), who repaired both boards. He also asked if I would send him the VAMPIRE board as he'd like a look at it. He completed the recap on both boards, but was unable to get any WHDLOAD games to run, having to resort to his own memory expansion to get them to work.
TC suggested possible firmware issue of the board - I have no idea - Has anyone else had anything similar ? Its running v1.0 of the firmware (as supplied by Kipper2K). I haven't got it back off TC yet, but am pre-empting so I can get some ideas on it's return.
Is there any version of WHDLOAD I should be using ?
Should I have 2mb ChipMem ?
Is the board faulty ?

just picked up this very inexpensive USB blaster to load additional cores from ebay...
hope it works with this card... He he...

I have maybe the same problems as you have. I have two A600, and neither of them work with the Vampire. One is rev 1.5 and the other 1.3.
I have not tried to let them warm up, but instead have pressed on the socket quite firmly with my fingers, and only once did I get it to boot with the 64mb ram. I haven't tried another firmware, but did manage to flash it successfully with the same firmware.
I did not try WHDload at the time however.
I also have one 8mb ram expansion and this works just fine on both A600.
Sent it back to Kipper2k and he could tell me it worked fine on his machine.
It is a mystery.
I think I have tried it with 2 mb chip ram, and it made no difference.
I haven't gotten mine in return yet, so can't do any more testing.

Hey Kipper, are you there? I've sent you 3 PMs without reply, but AmiBay says you were online last february 5th. So, are these still available or not? It would be nice that you could reply PMs, even to say that they are sold out.
