Hi all,

I am hoping to have another go at retrobrite on the new additions to my collection. Does anybody know of a way to remove the warranty sticker intact so I can place it back on after cleaning? Just in case I need to send it back ;-P

:thanks:

Re: Warranty Sticker

it will be removed in retrobrite
those bubbles going out of plastic will lift it without any damage (at least it works for amiga mouses, tried myself)
problem is, what glue is suitable to stick it back?

Re: Warranty Sticker

I think the warranty stickers are water slide transfers, like you get with Airfix kits. PVA wood glue should be OK to re-attach the sticker and will be slow drying, so that the sticker shouldn't crack as it dries.

Re: Warranty Sticker

yep, it looks similar, somethink like rubber, it will never dry to hard-bond
but its dissolvable in acetone, so not a classic wood glue. and you cannot use acetone for removing it as it will damage the plastic.
its not dissolvable in water, but those bubbles works great
im using window-flower-box (dont know teh english word for it) with a liquid dilution, not a gel

i will try to find that PVA glue locally

Re: Warranty Sticker

for removal... heres a hackers tip...

Silicone Spray..... it disolves the glue...

£2.95 Buy It Now Linkie from fleaBay

you will need to let the sticker air dry, you may need to wipe it with a cloth pending on how much you use.

now re-attachement can be tricky... I would suggest cutting to size some 3M thermal grip pads
Yet another Buy It Now linkie for 99p :)

or you could use good quality double sided sticky tape.

Re: Warranty Sticker

Cheers for the tips guys!! I have a small matter of a holiday, but as soon as that is over I will start with a vengeance.

Re: Warranty Sticker

Why bother re-attaching the sticker? It's not like you're gonna take your Amiga back for a warrenty repair now, is it? :ROTFLOL2:
