Hey peeps,

Wonder if anyone has ever had or knows what might be causing this issue :help:

Since installing MiamiDX and IBrowse my Warp3D and WarpOS games are running extreamly slow, like 1fps :(

This is Quake 2 and Wipeout 2097. Both were running fine before I introduced the new apps.

At first I thought the PPC had overheated or something almost shat my pants, but I've tried it in my other Amiga and everything is fine with the Hardware - phew!

So then I thought maybe the BVision was at fault but GLQuake(68k) is running fine, smooth as ever.

So it seems games using both the PPC and WarpOS are now screwed. :overactor:

Any ideas as to what may be the cause, any libs from these two apps that could upset thing?

I guess its a long shot and I might have to revert to a backup made prior to these introductions and try another TCP/IP stack.

For what its worth I'm online, browsing fine and everything is sweet as a nut!

Cheers,

Steve.

Try reinstalling WarpOS/Warp3D distributions again?

Logic clearly dictates if you've accidently copied over a library or binary somewhere due to newly installed programs reinstallation of the prior should therefore reverse the latter.

Of course you could be unlucky and whats happened is a config file has been created in env via one of those prior programs which just happens to also be a valid random file for the latter. eg Warp and its associated executables or scripts checks for the existance of this random file and complies with the setting held within!

There's a theory ;-)

good luck

When you mentioned A1200 and networking, I thought of the PCMCIA bug (experienced this myself many years ago on a B1260). Obviously not the case though if only PPC games are affected.

Hey Slayer, thanks for the suggestions.

I restored my files from my older backup and the games are running smooth again. I've not checked Miami/IBrowse yet, they might not run now so I'll have to cross that bridge...

Anyone know where CGX keeps its Monitor/Screenmode settings? I'd made lots of new screenmodes that were not in this older backup.

Cheers.

Steve.

Had to redo the assign for Miami, thats all. Online, grabbed latest ADoom from Aminet so seems to be working a treat

Happy Fitzie...

Good result fitz. It's been a while, but IIRC, P96 prefs are in Prefs & the settings are saved to ENV-Archive, ....which gets assigned to RAM: in ENV: when you boot.

Hey mate Cheers! This is the CGX4 settings for the BVision.

Its no big deal to redo them, it was only the 256col modes for shapeshifter

I found out what actually causes this in the end!

If I run a 24bit Workbench and then load a 16bit Warp3D/PPC game it runs like a three legged Dog!

But from a 16bit Workbench they run fine, go figure
