As per the subject.

I currently own a Revsion 5 (I’m guessing last/Latest version?). Of the 6860 Micronik ZIII variant. Have seen Revision 4 boards for sale etc.

Why I am asking this question is down to issues I have experienced with certain Z3 Boards not wishing to work/Function at Z3 speeds, but instead at Z2 only. for example the Trident lite Z3 board. Will not work at Z3 on my Revision 5.0. Yet set it to Z2 and use the Z2 Trident USB driver it works fine.
I am using a Buster 11 on a New ACILL Rev 1.0 board. Tested on the standard, Prometheus and Mediator Daughterboards without issue at Z3 speeds.

Just wondering if the Rev 5.0 introduced issues?

Anyone know the revision differences of the micronik 6860?

Cheers.

Thanks for open this thread about Micronik Z3 Bus Boards for A3000 or A4000

I know rev. 4.0 and 5.0 (A4000) and rev. 3.0 (A3000) one 3.0 has 3x GAL/PAL chips and second 3.0 only ONE GAL/PAL chip (rest missing on PCB)

No worries.

I’m just wondering if the Rev 5.0 has improvements over the rev 4.0? Or the rev 5.0 introduced some issues that the rev 4.0 didn’t have?
Would be interesting to see. Or is it the fact the extra z3 slots can cause issues with Buster 11 DMA?

Do you have a first-hand experience that the MicroniK A3000 rev 3.0 busboard that has only one GAL/PAL chip is working?
All MicroniK A3000s I've seen have all three GALs populated.

All MicroniK A3000s I've seen have all three GALs populated.

Yes but here on Amibay is one only with one GAL populated - this is new info too for me. ALL Micronik A3000 know with three GALs and too my one 3.0 (and now find 6910 rev. 4.0) has every time three GALs. ;)

I have too A3000 Micronik 6910 rev. 4.0 and A4000 6960 rev. 5.4 (3x PCI slots)

The A3000 busboard that is for sale on Amibay has not been tested so it is safe to assume that the board does not work as it's missing the two GAL chips.

All other MicroniK A3000 rev 3.0 busboards I've seen have all three GAL chips populatd, the A4000 busboard also has all three GAL chips populated, and the only differences between these two busboards are the form factor (A3000 vs A4000) and the video slots which do not need GAL chips to operate. Signalwise both busboards are otherwise equal.

Hi,
Does the A4000 version need heavy modding to work in A3000 ?
Apart from the video slot side.

I have a Rev 5, and it has three GAL chips. Some time ago, I removed the GALs and attempted to read them, but they were protected. The reason was that a friend also has this board and he had damaged it by putting 12V where it shouldn't be.

My board still works well, although not with an A4091 SCSI controller. I tried both an original Commodore one and also the new remake version. Both work in an A4000 with ordinary Zorro riser card. Has anyone else tried an A4091?
