Free Online for Games
Dedicated servers
Doesn't matter how much Microsoft Pimp the extra "features"... it will never compete on them two things. And they are the most important!
Even if one had to pay for online gaming for PS3, Sony allowing a more open dedicated server structure will always be better.

Free online play with dedicated servers per game (and a totally hack free environment!!) FTW.... buy PS3

Child of Eden (PS3... much better with a REAL vibrating MOVE controller over that flappy flap thing on Xbox 360)
Angry Birds: seasons (Android Xpreia Arc... which BTW pee pee's form a high height on iPhone 4s and looks better too... HA!)
Magician Lord (Neo Geo AES... man, this game is ROCK later on!)
GunHed (PC Engine GT... still awesome shooter)
TwinTris (two player with the Lad on his A600, great fun!)

The answer is its personal preference, you cant truely say which one wins or is best, only which one wins for you. Some people can say each one wins for any reason and it will all be down to the features they enjoy the most. "Xbox live wins because live has better online" (which you pay for so it damn well should), "PS3 wins because it has blue ray, free online and you can connect your PSP to it".
At the end of the day its all personal preference.
I have both and barely use Live atall. I play more on and use online services of the PS3 most, because I dont want to pay subscription services for things I can do for free on PC and PS3 but again I rarely use online gaming anyway. I'm not as social as most people appear to be.
I've not once heard anyone say 'Wii wins because its Nintendo and has ties and exclusives related to the 8 bit era onwards'
and you guys call yourselves retro fans... :roll:

Still playing mostly X3 Terran Conflict on the PC.

With regards to LIVE, everytime I call up to say £40 is too much and I don't wanna auto renew... BADDAR BING! thta'll be £22 then sir, £1.83 per month is fine by me
Furthermore, never had my details hacked, never been cut off, suffered from interrupted play, lag and it means I can stay away from that god awful 17yo (if it's broke please FIX IT) design PlayStation controller.
know I sound like a bitter childish (circa SNES vs. Megadrive) fanboi but PS3... zzzzzzzzz, Xbox 360 fills me with the same warm gooey loyal feeling I get with Amiga I'm currently working hard on Mega Thypoon ,probably the best shooter on Amiga. I'm also enjoying Llamatron on the Atari ST. I've been working all day to get a floppy drive working, now I did and it is fun!
Lol, had the same feeling about the need for speed, I get bored after the level gets to high to win
Been playing Alan Wake on the 360, Dark Alliance II on the old XBox plus my usual weekly dose of space sim goodness by way of Oolite and Pioneer
@ Gereldine - Finally got around to Alan Wake huh? How you finding it? I loved it first play through, great experience.
