Hi,
few Years ago i bought PS3 slim for small amount, and i have never turned it on until today. There was some minor board with flat cable (that goes under case cover) connected in one USB port, but i thought this is maybe for the fan (if it doesn't receive voltage from the board connector). Today i have opened the PS3, and i have found some strange board with microSD card on top of the Blue-ray drive, and from this board that one flat cable goes to USB port, and other cable is connected to PSU. On this SD card are some keys (1KB files).
I have attached a picture, and i would be grateful if someone knows what this card is for.
Thanks in advance

Edit: Looks like all the pages that had E3ODE update.bin file, or anything else connected to this emulator, are down. I don't have update.bin on my sd card, only keys (722 keys). If someone has link to those files, i would be very grateful.

Edit: Will quit with this PS3, and sell it. Maybe it's worth something with this emulator. If the emulator doesn't work, HEN is always the second option :)

Looks like an E3 ODE PRO Optical drive emulator, some photos found on Google match perfectly with your board

As i watch videos on YT, probably mine sd card is faulty or something. It should be shown in "photo" section, but it ain't there. Need to search more, maybe there is some software that it should be on the card.....

I assume that update.bin file is only needed to update the board's firmware, but I never used one of those boards so I might be wrong :)

In any case you can find the latest update, installation manual, user manual and more if you go to the official website (http://www.e3-tech.net) using the Wayback Machine

You have to go back to around 2014 to find them

I have found manuals how to install this emulator (it's already installed), and user manual how it supposed to work (it is showed in photos section, but in my case it is not), but there is no download section and only thing i saw is that in order to be shown in photos, it needs to have update.bin on SD card... Or maybe i didn't understood well?
